Hola mi familia y comunidad de Hive Open Mic. Bienvenidos a la semana ciento cuarenta y uno de Hive Open Mic. El tema de esta semana es "Invierno", y este tema fue elegido por @purplesinger.

Winter! Winter!! Winter!!!

Unfortunately, in Nigeria we don't experience Winter Season, we only see it on Television and in the movies. We see how the environment changes and everywhere becomes "snow-full." We see the snow flakes, snow ball, the compounds and roads covered with snow, the heavy winter jackets worn by people and how plants responds to this unique season.

Indeed, it only exists in movies and story tales for those in this part of the world who are not privileged to travel out of Nigeria yet.

However, we have our "low-budget" winter; we call it Harmattan Season (Dry season). For us, the wind from the Northern Hemisphere (Desert area) flows towards the southern region carrying lots of wind.

This period usually starts around November, but due to Climate change we now see it coming out late. Infact, I only felt it yesterday, (23rd December) so late. However, whenever we smell the harmattan we remember that Christmas is close-by.... hehe.

¡Invierno! ¡¡Invierno!! ¡¡¡Invierno!!!

Desafortunadamente, en Nigeria no experimentamos la Temporada de Invierno, sólo la vemos en la Televisión y en las películas. Vemos cómo cambia el entorno y todas partes se "llenan de nieve". Vemos los copos de nieve, la bola de nieve, los recintos y carreteras cubiertos de nieve, las pesadas chaquetas de invierno que lleva la gente y cómo las plantas responden a esta estación única.

De hecho, sólo existe en las películas y en los cuentos para los que en esta parte del mundo no han tenido el privilegio de viajar fuera.

Sin embargo, nosotros tenemos nuestro invierno "de bajo presupuesto"; lo llamamos Estación del Harmattan (estación seca). Para nosotros, el viento del hemisferio norte (zona desértica) fluye hacia la región meridional arrastrando mucho viento.

Este periodo suele comenzar hacia noviembre, pero debido al cambio climático ahora lo vemos aparecer más tarde. De hecho, yo lo sentí ayer (23 de diciembre), tan tarde. Sin embargo, siempre que olemos el harmattan recordamos que la Navidad está cerca-by.... jeje.

Talking about Christmas, in few minutes I'll be going to the Church for Christmas Vigil.

Events like this prompts us to reflect on that great night when the mighty King was born in a lowly manger. The One who owns everything chose a manger to become his place of birth. A place where the horses and animals made their home. How mighty, yet humble in His choice. He is Divine, yet he assumed the human flesh in humility and obedience, and His Divinity was neither subsumed nor diminished.

The birth of He who came to bring lightness to this darkened world. His light dispels the darkness and the darkness cannot overpower it.

He was welcomed by animals in the stable, Shepherds, Magis - Wise men (who were also known as "Kings") and the Host of Angels sang at his birth. What birth in the history of humanity is more glorious, mysterious, yet humble like that of He who was born for the salvation of humanity and sanctification of God's people.

He brings hope to the hopeless;
Light to dispel the darkness;
And Salvation to the damned.

Hablando de Navidad, en pocos minutos iré a la Iglesia para la Vigilia de Navidad.

¡Ooooh!

Acontecimientos como éste nos incitan a reflexionar sobre esa gran noche en la que el poderoso Rey nació en un humilde pesebre. Aquel que es dueño de todo eligió un pesebre para convertirlo en su lugar de nacimiento. Un lugar donde los caballos y los animales tenían su hogar. Cuán poderoso, pero humilde en su elección. Él es Divino, y sin embargo asumió la carne humana en humildad y obediencia, aunque Su Divinidad no fue subsumida ni disminuida.

El nacimiento de Aquel que vino a traer luz a este mundo oscurecido. Su luz disipa las tinieblas y las tinieblas no pueden dominarla.

Fue recibido por animales en el establo, pastores alrededor, Magos (que también eran conocidos como "Reyes") y la hueste de ángeles cantó en su nacimiento.
