RE: How I Started Collecting Coins

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

I had the bulk of my coin collection passed on to me from my father, and he in turn was given by his father before him. A pair of gold Sovereigns were at least from grandfather. Now, it's my turn to add to the collection to my sons if any of them are interested.
Thanks for sharing the origin of your collection @trautenberk

My grandfather collected stamps. I also added a little to his collection and will pass it on to my son. Even though I'm 57, I have a thirteen-year-old son. He, in turn, collects LEGOs. Not a bad investment either.

Thanks for sharing from your origins. I'm looking forward to more stories on scammers, especially those who you first fell for and only discovered later.

Speaking of stamps, my mother in law left behind a remarkable collection. We don't know what to do with it yet. A total coincidence finding this topic here. (My father in law left behind some coins, yet all originally bought from mints. We've not been into this very far other than taking care of it.)

Almost everything can be collected. Maybe we'll start a #collecting tag.

My father used to say that the best investment is a good deed.
