Take conscious steps towards self-improvement.

There is something awkward about a forty-year-old who lives life carelessly and behaves like he/she is a twenty-year-old. Someone like that still ignores the importance of taking up responsibilities in life. They don't make any effort to improve themselves. Instead, they allow themselves to naively buy into the narrative that 'we all are okay the way we are'.

Do you see the problem with that?

We all are obviously okay the way we are. There is no doubt about that, but we also have a long list of things that needs to be improved on. Little wonder why people do exercises to work on their physique. People also learn skills that will help improve their lives and set them on a path to a better life. The more they do these, the more it will improve their standard of living.

Do you see? It's just delusional to not want to improve yourself. It also doesn't make a good case for anyone if the person doesn't want to take any responsibility in life. With a thought like that, people will most likely become 'losers' in life. I suppose that also suggests that they will become a burden to those around them and to the society at large.

What should you do to improve yourself?

Do the arithmetic... You will surely come up with a list of things that are bothering you about yourself. It may be a habit you have which is leading you down a really bad road. It can also be that there is something you need to learn, but you haven't made sufficient effort to learn that. Stuff like that.

The really interesting thing about this is that once you start taking conscious steps towards self-improvement, you will notice that things like depression and self-guilt will distance themselves from you. How about you try to improve yourself? I mean, there is nothing to lose when you are trying to be a better version of yourself.

If you can take just one thing to heart as a consequence of reading this post, a nudge to "make effort to improve yourself" would be a really good thing to take note of. We all have a life to live. Making effort to be the best you can be would always count as a win for you.

I tend to do things one step at a time nowadays. Once I master that thing, then I move to another stuff.

I know a lot of people in my age that are in this situation, most of them are the ones to grumble about how their life is and how unlucky their situation is right now saying that they don't have such opportunities given to them.

The interesting thing about learning is that once we devote our time to learn anything, there won't be need to learn that same thing again. So, learning anything (even mundane things) gives us opportunity to learn other things.

To have a better life, we should always be ready to learn more things and put them into practice.

I started making conscious steps towards self love and care towards the ending of last year and a great improvement has been seen .

I did this arithmetic and there was a list of things but with conscious steps, the list has gradually been depreciating.

You are buzzing. It's really interesting to hear this. I know from my own experience that making effort to improve our life always counts as a good decision.

Keep up the momentum. That's how you will get to eliminate so many things on the list. Hehe
