Kindness... Approach it with the Golden Rule.

adam-nemeroff-_PDPRax9dm8-unsplash.jpg

I've constantly seen people who are dying inside and getting deeper into the grip of negative emotions because they are surrounded by people who do not show any element of kindness. It's sad especially when it's obvious that it doesn't cost much to show kindness to someone.

Genuine kindness doesn't have to cost a fortune. Sometimes, just to say "you are amazing" to your neighbor who's going through hell is enough to lighten up the person's mood. Try saying kind things to those around you and see how that will lift up their mood. Yeah! It works like magic.

So, if it's assumably so easy to spread kindness, why are people so deprived of it in this world?

I dunno. I really don't know why some Dads break their back each day to provide for their household, yet, they are deprived of kindness by the same people they are trying to take care of. Why do so many Mums work so hard and sacrifice parts of their life to run their home, yet, they get mistreated by the same person they make those sacrifices for?

Think about these for a moment... Just because you boarded an Uber and you are the customer and we all stick with the "customer is always right" blah blah blah - does that give you the right to treat the Uber driver like a piece of shit? Some customers go wild on their high horse. I'm not even making that up.

Oh... She's a waitress who serves meals in a restaurant and her yearly earning is less than what you earn in a day. Good for you. But, does that make her less of a human? Does that really give you the right to make a caricature of her and cajole her like a peasant?

I don't know how often this has to be said before it sinks in. However, it feels like we are in an era where this has to be on repeat because the dog-eat-dog approach that defines this modern lifestyle isn't exactly commendable. We all are supposed to care, but it's a shame... Who really cares? Who's still interested in treating others the way they want others to treat them?

Think about those for a moment...

Before I go any further, I've got to back up my words with action by first showing appreciation to DreemPort and also to @gregscloud of Kindness Community for collaborating this March to make it a month of Kindness. This is the first week of the collaborative challenge and I'm all in for this adventure.

In Conclusion; We all have what it takes to be a force for good and we can achieve that by showing kindness to ourselves, neighbors, families, and to a stranger whom we may meet just once in a lifetime. Every time you have an opportunity to say or act towards someone, make sure you apply the golden rule to that.

If you do these genuinely, you will make the day better for a lot of people.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

Talking about Uber drivers, most of them have to constantly go through humiliation from their customers. Someone will just carry his anger and put it on you.

Even now, I see it happening between some lecturers and their students. It’s not the best, you never know what someone is going through so why not be kind.

Exactly. A lot of people in the service industry go through that treatment in the hand of some customers. Some of these customers treat people like trash and all these accumulate to make life depressing.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this

That's very true. Life can be better if we all do better.

Hi @kenechukwu97 I love your definition of kindness, to be kind isn't supposed to be hard at all, if we put ourselves in the position of others most times, we could be nicer and kind to them and our world will be amazing.

It breaks my heart sometimes when I see people dish out the kind of behavior they wouldn't wish to receive if the tables were turned.

That's very true. Many people are okay with doing such things and handling people like trash. Yet, they wouldn't like to get that same experience from others. It's a crazy world out there.

Kindness is like salt, necessary, without it life becomes insipid, it is the result of self-love and as you say nothing is taken away from us by doing good to the next person, a few simple words will make the day better for others and for ourselves, excellent post my friend.

That's true. Kindness doesn't cost anything at all. It's something we've got to do for the greater good of everyone. Sadly, see despite the fact that it doesn't cost too much to do this, a lot of people still find it hard to show genuine kindness

Kindness is free yet its not affordable as not many have it in their possession. It's more easy for people to be hostile than for them to be kind, I really do hope we get it right.

True. I also hope we get it right, especially when dealing with others. Some people choose hostility towards others instead of kindness. The reason is best known to them though.

You are raised a valid point dear. In today's era, technology has made man so busy that he doesn't think about the people around him. Due to which the act of kindness in the society has reduced a lot. Whereas in the previous era when this technology was not there, people used to sit together and interact and try to solve each other's problems.

The massive increase in the usage of technology has played a big part in reducing the physical interaction between people. Now, a lot of people have switched to remotely interacting with others
