The Things I Do For Fun || Ladies Of Hive Community Contest #85

I love to have fun and I know everyone does too but our kind of fun varies! What may appeal to me as fun may be annoying to another person. 😆

It's important to have fun, not always, but from time to time. Simply because fun is a way to relax our bodies and mind so we don't implode on stress!

See what I did there? I said bodies and minds. Fun is not for the body alone. Our minds should have some fun as well.

I grew up not knowing how to have fun (which I wouldn't advise parents to do). I had to study and study and study. Boring, right? Let your children be free to play around and have fun sometimes.

Baking With A Friend

I love to cook and it's a relaxing activity for me. When I am in the kitchen by myself, my mind is relaxed and I don't have to worry much. I find that I use my cooking time to meditate on things generally.

It becomes more fun when I am baking or cooking with a friend, maybe for a party or the family! I talk about interesting things and share a good laugh with my friend. The sweet aroma of the food wafts through the house and makes the activity worth it! 😄

Travelling

Thanks to covid and the tight travel restrictions, I don't travel as often as I used to before. I love to travel and get so excited when preparing for a trip.

Either by road or by air, I look forward to sightseeing! This is the best part of travelling. Someone once said travelling is a form of education. It's a way to learn about other people, cultures and lifestyles.

Nothing is more fun than sunny weather, a blue sky and me on the road or air with family and friends!

Watching Movies

This is one fun activity that involves mostly the mind and I do it often. My body is in a relaxed state (unless I'm munching a snack 😅) but my mind is active. I love to watch thrillers, romance, fantasy/adventure and action movies.

No matter how busy my schedule may be, I always try to make time to watch a movie or two before the week winds down. You know the saying, all work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy. Well, I'm not Jack but I don't want to be dull! 😂

Watching movies is also a form of education. A quarter of my education comes from watching films and it's a good mind booster.

Reading Novels

Another fun way to relax the mind is reading! I think I do more reading per day than most activities in my life. Probably because of my upbringing and work, but I can't enjoy my day without picking up a piece to read. This includes reading posts on blogging sites!

When I am on holiday or want to have fun without burning some calories, I pick a fine novel, find a cool sitting or lying spot and read. It's fun for me and when I make such plans, I become excited about it that you would think it's a party or something.
