The Gateway Crypto
Last week we had @crimsonclad on the Crypto Maniacs podcast. It was one of our more popular episodes and people have been raving about her appearance on the show!
She mentioned how Hive has positioned itself in a very unique place in the crypto world. It's something I have believed in tremendously over the years, mostly because I've seen how it changes people after they 'get a taste'....
She stated....Hive is...A gateway crypto!
And not so much to move on to other projects in the crypto world, however I'm sure that happens. It's more of the experience people have when they start understanding what a true web 3 blockchain can be.
How can we see this each day on Hive?
It's particularly true within our community - CTP. A lot of our members have been onboarded from outside the crypto space. They are brand new to everything 'blockchain' related and start hearing about....'Powering up' and 'resource credits' when they go through our training.
They start discovering the apps on Hive and realize that they can do everything they have been doing on traditional social media, right here on Hive. From blogging to playing games, uploading videos to watching live streams....
Their eyes light up :)
Now some people give it a try and give up, that's attrition. Part of every industry across many niches online. But then a chunk of them 'get it'. They start showing up, adding value to the community. They comment, they engage. They create and learn as much as they can about this project and before you know it, they are hooked!
Sound familiar?
In one way or another, I'm pretty sure a large number of everyone reading this post can say the same or have similar experiences. A lot of us have 'heard' of Bitcoin but let's be honest...The use cases for 'popular crypto' is pretty scarce. It's there but nothing compared to what we can do here on Hive.
This becomes the first true blockchain experience people have and empowers them to learn more! I think that's what attracts me so much to Hive as a whole. The community supports each other. Projects, tribes and communities all seem to feed off each other and help grow the entire blockchain each and every day. Yeah we've had history of flag wars and drama, but right now, Hive is in a very good place.
It's welcoming to those that dive in and add value!
You don't need to become a crypto 'maniac' and expert at this stuff, all Hive seems to want is...Your effort!
People learn, they get comfortable and then before you know it....They dive into DeFi! They poke around NFTs. They start playing blockchain based games. And it all seems to get it's kick start on Hive.
Obviously, it's not always the case...But I bet if you ask some crypto degens you may find replies like this:
"I remember Steem, that's where I started to learn about crypto!"
"BitShares, oh yeah I messed around with that!"
"3speak, that's where I uploaded my first video on a blockchain!"
All from the same DNA....This blockchain is where people come to discover crypto and get a taste. It's a gateway crypto if I've ever seen one...

I've met a few Hiveans who got into crypto after discovering Hive as a blogging platform. They're pretty big crypto nerds now 🤣😆🍻
Yeah man, one of the biggest influencers out there got her start right here. Be nice if she came around more, she was pretty awesome for the blockchain!

I can say the same for myself, I tasted Hive and more, but there have never been moments when I am full of Hive, I am forever hungry because it is just so nice around here.

Hive is both! It's my first ever actual blockchain experience because I actually use it and tinker around. I fully relate with Hive as a gateway crypto, it's the place to to learn and experience all things crypto, like a portal to the cryptoverse. To me, Hive is my home base in the cryptoverse.
For sure, the hub where we all gather :)

Hive was my first way into using blockchain for anything meaningful and I think it's definitely a gateway crypto. The use cases are large and RCs recover over time.

I have been in the crypto market for a long time. In Hive I see a lot of utility cases. Nobody knows if Hive will be the winner in the market but its concept will be the one that prevails.
Yeah the markets are all hype and hoopla to me, little use case, just lots of promises.

It was my second blockchain and second coin after WAX. But I ended up liking the potential so much that I stayed). But the entry story is perfectly written! !LOLZ 😜💪🔥

I used the BAT token first then I got into BCH then meanwhile I got into Hive. I think I progressively started learning about various cryptos. It's kind of crazy journey and now with Hive I feel kind of settled. :)
It's a great place to settle for sure. Digital real estate :)

Hive was shortly after I created my Coinbase account and bought some ETH, LTC, and BTC. I don't know if I would call it my gateway crypto, but I can see a lot of people would likely fall into that category. If anything, I'd probably say EOS was my gateway crypto, but that hasn't played out the way most of us were hoping yet!
I never got into EOS. I was too in love with Steem at the time and focused there. I didn't even know what it was lol

It's sad, it had/has so much potential. They just need to get stuff sorted out. Some amazing blockchains are based on the EOS IO and this blockchain is even related to it in many ways. It gets such a bad rap, but the fundamentals are really solid. I'm holding mine all the way to zero at this point.
I am old user of steem and hive is hard fork of steem. Now i am using hive Blockchain. Because hive community members support new users how to grow on hive Blockchain. Now i am full time work on hive.
That's the dream for a lot for sure...Being able to 'live' off their efforts here!
