The Bare Minimum Is....

Apologies in advance for the lack of content over the past 36 hours or so....

Family came into town and I was 'taxi service' over the past few days. No excuse though, I should have been better and showed up like I try to each and every day.

Jongo...What's wrong with you? It's o.k. to take a day or two off every now and again.

Kinda.

You see, I hold myself to a standard where I make a commitment to myself, to post...Every day! The issue for me, as an entrepreneur, is that I have no one to answer to. So if I don't 'do what I say', the only person that is letting me down is...Well, me!

Well, Jongo...How can you say that? I have so much going on and can only make a few comments a week....If I have the time!

That's what we call...The bare minimum!

I remember YEARS ago in affiliate marketing, people started handing out high fives, just for using their real names and pictures on their ad copy. Again, bare minimum.

The bare minimum is the 'of course you should be doing these tasks'. Here on Hive we hear this as the 'I make a comment or two when I can'...I don't think participation trophies should be handed out for...Doing the bare minimum!

Maybe this is why, so many give up, are never noticed, and disappear when their projects don't go to the moon. The bare minimum is something I used to talk about in training sessions as 'saying No to the status quo'.

Average.

Bare minimum.

What EVERYONE else is doing!

You see, this is a guarantee that you will never stick out from the crowd. This is why there is a lot of less than memorable content creators on the blockchain, because they have settled for 'average' and haven't pushed themselves.

I'm not saying you need to be creating Pulitzer Prize winning articles from day one, but people can see growth! They want to be around people that show up every day, and show the community...They aren't settling for the bare minimum!

So what can you do?

Push yourself!

If you are making 1 piece of content a week....Go for 2 or 3!

If you are writing 1-2 comments a day, try to write 20 a day!

If you show up and contribute to the blockchain once a week via comments or posts, make it multiple days a week....

Stop settling for the bare minimum and PUSH YOURSELF to be more and create more.

You may be pleasantly surprised at the kind of results you get when you do more, as you become more!

P.S. Wanna make 20 comments a day with ease while discovering amazing content? We have a too for that called Veews!

I do not often manage to do this myself, but one solution to having these "gap days" is to keep one post in drafts just in case. lol

The trouble with this, is that it needs to be evergreen content that does not become dated!

Stock vs flow content...Not everything is gonna be evergreen, you may only write a few 'stock' pieces of content while the 'flow' stuff keeps you top of mind and out there.

this bare minimum technique is beautiful. Once one then organizes himself to obtain the indispensable minimum more and more easily, the parameter of the indispensable minimum can be raised

Problem is, most people settle for the minimum and then never push themselves.

Which means you are your own boss and this is the benefit of owning a business or freelancing work. I love people prefer being their own boss. Have a nice day!

I recently started this approach and you happen to make this post today haha. I completed my next years content schedule for YouTube channel. Now 2023 is booked with 2 days each week worth of content. Now I am pushing for 2024 and 2025 before the year end of 2023 or who knows more content scheduled before next year ends :P

Totally agree with most of your approach and mindset, this is why I kind of hang around you and task. I have improved a lot. Cheers to Jongo Clan!!!

Awesome to hear it :) And thanks for the kind words!

That's the trick to all this, writing it down and then pushing yourself. With those goals on paper, we have targets and the ability to hold ourselves accountable!

I have been working on that for some time now, Hive has helped me to do that, to learn from others and above all to have concrete goals in the short, medium and long term, greetings Jon.

That's a great plan...the short, medium and long term plans. those short ones add up to the mediums and then into the long term big ones...Sad that more don't see how important it is!

I find it tough to really push myself but I hope to change that over time. It is definitely something I need to change and increase from my bare minimum. Maybe I should try to build more of a buffer every now and then to add to that minimum.

do taxi for family? That sounds like a lot to me, especially at these parties. I think that during the next few weeks we will all put on the taxi driver's hat one day or another.

Settling for the bare minimum is like refusing to get out of your comfort zone. Nothing exciting or interesting happens there. Real growth happens through pushing yourself beyond the bare minimum.

Preach it!

Lately I’ve been focusing more on commenting, rather than all those games/faucets/centralized crypto-ish things that take my time.

And veews has been a great help to find new interesting content to engage with

I totally understand you, if you settle for the minimum you will never break the standard and you will never achieve anything really significant in your life.

In hive I try to apply all the things you say, I make 1 post a day and when I don't succeed it gives me an ugly feeling, like I failed myself hahaha however I always keep up with the comments!

I've noticed that commenting and participating works wonders, I've even been encouraged to comment! I have noticed that the payments for comments are different from those for posts, for comments you get 100% of the reward! you knew that?
