176,000 vs 12,000
Let's talk a minute about goals....
If you read my blog at all, you'll know that I'm big on them! I write a weekly post each and every Saturday evening where I go over my goals and the 'moving targets' that I deal with each week. It's been an absolute blast to share these posts with people and I truly do hope it inspires some one, to see what can be done here.
When you dedicate your time, energy, effort and yes, a bit of fiat into things.....
So let's take a look at two of my goals, it's to grow my $HIVE Power to 150,000 and my $LEO Power to 100k. Nice targets, but did you know I'd fall short?
Fall short of what?
Hive and Leo have these slick little 'titles' they give people who reach a certain level of staked power. To be a Hive Whale, you need around 550,000 (give or take, I know it's not exact but work with me here lol). And to be an "Apex Lion' on LEO, you need 150,000 LEO Power. So even with these goals I hope to achieve by the end of the calendar year.....I fall short.
Way short in fact on Hive and let's take a look at some numbers....
If you started at 0, and decided you wanted to become a Hive Whale overnight, you'd need to buy around $176,000 worth of $HIVE You aren't going to get there either from creating content only either. Some of the top content creators on Hive aren't even at 400k in Hive Power and they've been doing this for years. So you need skin in the game for sure.
The combination can help though, big time. And it's what I've been doing. Trying to add this trifecta of content creation, curation and investing fiat into my journey.
Now let's flip over to LEO for a quick second and see what it would take to become an 'Apex Lion'. You'd need to buy $12,000 worth of $LEO off the market. Now I've been work my butt off recently on LEO to grow my stake and I'm light years ahead of reaching that top 'status' on LEO.
Now I know, the price of Hive and the price of LEO aren't close right now. So it's easier to accumulate the lower priced token obviously. And even market cap can't be compared the same way, but this is something that @taskmaster4450le has mentioned on our podcast for years now.
Pick your passion and focus!
Find a tribe, dedicate yourself to it! Don't just become an investor, talk about it everywhere you can. When someone thinks 'this tribe' they think of YOU! Know everything about it, become the expert at it.
Because it'll be a whole lot easier to become a person of influence in that tribe right now! Especially when it comes to lower priced tokens and our ability to accumulate them. Now before I get people with pitchforks coming after me, this is what is great about Hive...
If you become the 'expert' in LEO.....You can still grow your Hive!
If you become the 'expert' in CTP....You can still grow your Hive!
If you become the 'expert' in Terracore....You can still grow your Hive!
This is why I believe it's so important to have this strategy for your journey here:
Step 1 - Pick your tribe!
Step 2 - Learn everything you can about it and add MASSIVE value to it every single day!
Step 3 - Start creating, curating and investing in the token / tribe!
Bonus Step - HODL!
And by adding to the tribe / token you choose, you are in fact....Adding to Hive overall!
But as this post suggests, it's a lot easier to become a person of influence within a tribe on Hive right now because 'stake' talks!
Grow your stake using this planned attack, and I have no doubt in my mind, we'll all be on our paths to a top status soon :)

I'm still many miles from anything "significant" around here, but I also recognize that I am limited by not having money available to "buy in," over and above what I can gain from publishing and participation. But I'm OK with that!
As the saying sometimes goes: "What's the balance in YOUR Facebook wallet?"

I think that's what can attract a lot of people to different tribes. Especially if the price of the token is low. Any little bit of fiat we can invest, goes a long way.

I am unable to put that "skin" into the game unfortunately.
I have been able to generate quite a substantial relief fund from Hive and Hobby Fund. I use the HBD and other token incomes for that. I still grow a little bit of my secondary tokens and I do not power down HP. I just keep growing on that one.
Good luck with the Leo goals! Looks like you are still going to do what you can to achieve that one!
I hear you, my situation changed dramatically over the past month where I'm able to once again put some fiat into it. That being said, it's peanuts compared to some. But you are on the right path with the HBD for sure!

its really good to pick a tribe and stick with it. Leo has been a place that welcomes everyone to build their position and stake, and I think it's way cheaper now to grow a big stake before it goes off anytime soon.
Just a second thought. Do you think $LEO could get listed on an exchange anytime soon?
I hope so. I think that's the next step for LEO to really get eye balls to it, starting to get listed on other exchanges.

I must admit, when I first came to hive I wasn't active with it because I had my head stuck up my azz with these dumb ass TE. But, in the last 3 maybe 4 months I've been trying to put all my skin in the game, and you taught me about threads, savings HBD, and more I'm still a little confused about tags those words we use with # or !, I'm confused with the difference. No worries bro, now that I remembered I'll come over to discord and ask ya?
What I have been reading here i your blog i something I am trying to do. I tried it with dcrops and nah its not for me. I do miss the farming when I was a kids back home in portugal, but that kid is canadian style now lol. SO, right now I want to move on up on that rich list of CTP tokens. Whatever fiat (CAD) and crypto currency I can stuff into my hive wallet I will be splitting it with CTP and HBD. ANd that was a very good point about being tribe. I never thought of that. I was just thinking CTP, HBD, and dcrop. But I like that idea of figuring out which token I like best and just become a tribes member instead of a token salesman. That was a learning curve for me, I get a lot of learning curves here. I didn't know these bots give away rewards when you use tags, at least I think thats how that works?

I think it definitely talks and I agree that it makes a difference. I don't really have that large of a stake but my actions where my stake grows over time. I don't really plan on selling out and everyone who stays involved will do well. I generally stick around to LeoFinance for the most part and I think that has worked out.
It's a great community and the project is just very easy to fall in love with. I think it's a great place to be!
I am kind of mixed Tribe person. I am more of niche type. Like I do mostly technical content and reviews. I feel being niche specific helps a lot. But you are right on tribe part. More people from the tribe knows you then it becomes easier. End goal for me is the staking. More I stake, less I have to hustle. Reaching that point is the goal :)
It takes more than posting to be a whale, it's true and that's why Hive is so great here you can do everything. You can trade, invest, create services, create tokens, etc...
Picking a tribe is very important for focus, we have to stick to one or two things in the beginning to be known for it and attract influence or a following. The bonus step helps us cultivate the investor mindset, every user can be an investor on this blockchain and develop skin in the game over time.
Wow! Those are definitely some huge numbers. I can see what you are saying here. The best thing you can do is keep growing. I write because I enjoy it. The fact that I can earn is just icing on the cake. Some of the most delicious tasting icing I have ever had!

It has been very nice to read your plan of attack....
Causally, right now I'm thinking about a tribe where I'm sure I can fit in and feel quite comfortable working long term, I already do it in Hive and enjoy it a lot, but as you say it's easier to do it through the plan you comment.
Best of all is perhaps something that is rarely mentioned. A special ingredient to move forward with more speed, a little bit of fiat.
