Embracing My Hive-Sphere
Hive. This Blockchain has gravitated towards being more than just a way to make ends meet. But, as I think of it now, it has never felt like that to me if I’m being honest. Maybe because I had a pretty good onboarder who kept me level-headed about the whole concept of Hive even before I started. Of course, I can’t deny that the earning makes it all better. But I see it as the icing on the cake. The completion of an already awesome ensemble.
So, moving on, I’ve already shared how I came to Hive before but I’ll say it again. I was introduced to Hive by my best friend, @wongi. She was already here about a year and a half before me. And I often wondered what she was doing with her phone, all serious. But when she told me about it, I wasn’t ready and told her so. So, she let it go.
Time passed and I was immersed in a lot of other things, including being a ghostwriter. Then we talked about it again, several months later and I told her that I was finally ready to start. When she saw I was serious, she didn’t hesitate to tell me all about it, drumming into my ears and even showing me her account as a reference that she didn’t usually earn so much so I shouldn’t expect to in the beginning. But she was growing, steadily and that’s what kept her going.
And so, I joined the Hive platform. Wrote my first post on the 22nd of October in Wongi’s house that afternoon and afterwards, went home to sleep. I woke up the next morning and saw that I’d been curated. I jumped for joy and felt that I could just get the hang of this yet. Then, I don’t even know what happened, but I slacked off. For one month, and then two.
Once I was determined to come back fully on the first of January this year, I knew I would give it my all. And give my all I did. Tirelessly and with all my heart and I began to see tremendous results. I already expected that I’ll grow on Hive but I’ll let you in on what I didn’t expect.
I didn’t expect to improve so well in my writing. Recently, I mustered the courage to look at my earlier posts and I couldn’t help but marvel at the difference. I wasn’t ever a bad writer, true. But I’ve become better. Learnt to speak and own my truth in my writing. And it gives me such a thrill.
I also didn’t expect to make such wonderful friends. I didn’t know so much about the power of engaging. But once I realized it, I owned it and through that, I met some wonderful people. People that I couldn’t ever imagine not knowing now. Of course, there are some people that I didn’t even need to engage with. They were just there and became my family onwards. Like @dreemsteem who keeps teaching me to dreem, and @samsmith1971 who is by all standards my Mom here. And of course, the mad Scotsman, @tengolotodo who has guided me in more ways than one.
And most of all, I didn’t expect to learn so much. Each day on the Blockchain is another chance of learning. It’s like a school but way more fun. I learn every day from people’s skills, their experiences, their stories and their overall journey. It’s more than I could have asked for.
My Hive journey, so far has been laced with a myriad of emotions and feelings. There are good days and bad days, good weeks and bad ones too but I know that each day is a chance to better myself, psychologically, mentally and of course, financially. Hive could be very overwhelming. It’s like a labyrinth of complexities but I also like to think of it as a well-tied knot. Once you know how to go about it, you pull on that thread and everything just unfolds beautifully before you.
I’m still learning, still growing and persevering. It’s about nine months roughly since I got here and as each day comes on Hive, with its rewards and challenges, it moulds me to see life a bit differently. So, cheers to myself and everyone who has made this chain their second home. More wins to us.🌺
P.S: I’m listening to this three-hour-long K-drama instrumentals as I write this so you’ll have to bear with me if I sound too mushy. Hehe.

Hahaha yeah, it was a little bit mushy, but that does suit the subject matter.
Such a good way to find the place, in fact, it pretty much mirrors my own experience in a lot of ways, but kind of the opposite, I found Hive about a year and a half ago and told a bunch of my friends about it who didn't have much interest, until now, a year and a half later one of them text me and asked to sign him up only this week. I've been running him through his paces and is doing so well now.
Yeah, I joined with the mindset of, "What? I can get paid for writing? Awesome!" But, it quickly became so much more than that, it's more about the comradery, and it's a great place to hang out and catch up with friends. I came here and didn't know anyone but was welcomed instantly, and I was, and still am, blown away by this communities openness, I don't think there is any other social media site like it.
Hahaha, I've gone back before and read some of my earlier posts, and the writing ain't pretty, but I think it's great to be able to read old posts compared to new ones and see that evolution.

I needed to muster up courage for weeks before I was able to do that. It's like gazing to a rougher, less refined version of yourself. But funny thing is, months from now, you'll still think the same thing about your constant state. It's just that thing called growth. Haha
There's a lot to admire about here. I never thought people could be so warm to people they've never met before till I got here.

Hive is really complex and it has been very easy to recognize and appreciate that complexity because I've been in other places that claims to be Web3. However, I've never seen one that is as complex as Hive. It keeps getting better with more exposure.
You would be surprised to know that some people are not aware of the existence of anything called Hive Engine. Haha. And, they are not a week old on Hive. It's just a journey of discovery, powered by curiousity and a conscious attempt to learn. Hehe.
Keep up the momentum. As far as you've seen things you enjoy about Hive, you will always find it interesting to do stuff here. Hehe.

LoL 😂 ghostwriter I did that for some months too and when I wanted to be serious my content wouldn't let me because I wasn't good enough at it but when I joined so good content writer like inkwell I began to enjoy the cool breeze here on Hive.

Your journey so far is so inspiring, I'm new around here getting to know things and the way it works, hoping I can make good friends and good connections...I was also introduced by my friend, just posted recently, I wasn't so sure even with the money attached to it, I still battled against self doubt but I was surprised on how much people liked my story and that how I entered dreemport @dreem-steem even @samsmith1971... she really nice and she takes her time to teach me how to go about the new community, she's Mom indeed...I'm really excited, plus your journey has inspired me too...that we can work hard and be determine just like how you made up your mind about hive, hopefully we can be friends 🦋🥰

Hive is indeed complex. But having people like Wongi is definitely a plus. Hive grows everyday and to be honest, we keep learning every day. It’s good though you took it at your own pace. Sometimes when there’s no motivation and you rush into something new, you do not take full advantage.
