Back to Basics ruleset in Splinterlands - It has quite some effect on a battle's dynamics!

So dear readers? -I hope you had a good start into the new year and let us also hope for the best in the Splinterlands.
Personally I had a somewhat unpleasant start into the new year with a minor car crash. So let me hope that this is not only the first part of a streak of bad luck.

Back to Splinterlands! Again I have not heard any news on the Tower Defense game and still I have not any Rebellion packs in my account. :(

So what is this week's ruleset called? -"Back to Basics".
What is the rule-addon about? -""Units lose all abilities. Summoner effects are still active."
So basically it reduces units to their stats. That is somewhat quite of an effect, I would say.

So these are the line-ups. While I went with my beloved magical setup, my opponent went with a setup oriented more towards some of the better Water Splinter units.
Btw here you already see "Back to Basics" ruleset in all its glory. -None of the units has any ability below their avatar.
Missing abilities turned into somewhat of a fortunate thing for me.

My Mycelic Slipspawn was thanks to losing its "Taunt" ability not a living aim anymore. Instead enemy attacks went to my "cheap" Hill Giant while Slipspawn could deal heavy damage.
Besides that I already took 2 of my opponent's units off the board.

Round 2 brought along even the loss of Nerissa Tridawn for my opponent. So to be honest there was not really much resistance left. But could I achieve a perfect victory without losing a single unit?

I could not. Hill Giant left the board before Kulu Swimhunter ceased firing. Still a clear victory!

First time this year and also first time in a while I write the following: Yes, "Back to Basics" ruleset had a big influence on the dynamics of this match. And for me those were rather fortunate.
-Although I lost my Goblin Psych's healing ability my units did quite well!
