When the cosmos was borne into creation and the stars were placed into the heavens, everything had its place and travellers crossed the known worlds by the shapes they had joined together in the sky. As centuries passed, some of these stars were destroyed, either striking other objects or simply their light dying away, obliterated into tiny pieces. Meteors lit up the night for evermore, tracing lines in the blackness as they shot through the sky.

Astronomers have studied this phenomenon for many years and attribute the trailing light to a gathering of crystal dust upon the meteor. A crystal that holds great value when it falls to the land and is acquired by the people. But then chaos arrived, angry that mortals should benefit from such riches thrown from the heavens. Uul breathed life into these dead rocks and created the Gem Meteor, a creature that soars through the sky and flings crystal shards from its body at anyone unfortunate enough to get in its way. These crystalline missiles splinter and crack upon impact, ricocheting into everything nearby and inflicting devastating damage. Sometimes the meteorites descend into such a frenzy that they become completely indiscriminate about who or what they fire their shards at.

Cuando el cosmos fue llevado a la creación y las estrellas fueron colocadas en los cielos, todo tenía su lugar y los viajeros cruzaban los mundos conocidos por las formas que habían unido en el cielo. Con el paso de los siglos, algunas de estas estrellas se destruyeron, ya sea al chocar con otros objetos o simplemente al apagarse su luz, borrada en pedacitos. Pero entonces llegó el caos, enfadado porque los mortales se beneficiaran de tales riquezas arrojadas desde los cielos. Uul insufló vida a estas rocas muertas y creó el Gem Meteor, una criatura que se eleva por el cielo y lanza fragmentos de cristal desde su cuerpo a cualquiera lo suficientemente desafortunado como para ponerse en su camino. Estos misiles cristalinos se astillan y se rompen al impactar, rebotando en todo lo que está cerca e infligiendo un daño devastador. A veces, los meteoritos descienden con tal frenesí que se vuelven completamente indiscriminados en cuanto a quién o qué disparan sus fragmentos.

Gem Meteor has the Scattershot skill from level 1 and will learn the Piercing skill when reaching level 5.

Gem Meteor dispone de la habilidad Scattershot desde el nivel 1 y aprenderá la habilidad Piercing al llegar al nivel 5.

Gem Meteor is a rarely used card, we rarely see it on the battlefield but it is very effective playing it with the summoner General Sloan since we boost its ranged attack. Also if we use this card together with the battle condition Explosive Weapondry, we will be able to do a lot of damage to the opponent's creatures thanks to its random attack.

Gem Meteor es una carta poco usada, pocas veces la vemos en el campo de batalla pero resulta muy efectiva jugándola con la invocadora General Sloan ya que potenciamos su ataque a distancia. Además si usamos esta carta junto con la condición de batalla Explosive Weapondry, conseguiremos hacer mucho daño a las criaturas del rival gracias a su ataque aleatorio.

I am going to show you one of the battles in which until the last moment you don't know who is going to win the game. My enemy plays with the Earth Splinter and cards oriented to the magic attack. On the other hand, I play with a purely ranged attack card strategy. It will be a tough competition, who will come out the winner of this duel?

Os voy a mostrar una de las batallas en las que hasta el último momento no se sabe quien va a ganar la partida. Mi enemigo juega con el Splinter Tierra y cartas orientadas al ataque mágico. En cambio yo juego con una estrategia puramente de cartas de ataque a distancia. Será una dura competición. ¿Quién saldrá ganador de este duelo?

Summoner: General Sloan

Since I'm going to use ranged attack creatures, the best choice is General Sloan as a summoner. I will get +1 to my ranged attacks.

Position 1: Hero of Beyond

In first position as a tank to Hero of Beyond. A card that can attack from the first position, very resistant and with shield.

En primera posición como tanque a Hero of Beyond. Una carta que puede atacar desde la primera posición, muy resistente y con escudo.

Position 2: Thunderbird

Second position for Thunderbird, a creature with low mana cost and good life. It also has the Flying ability.

Segunda posición para Thunderbird, criatura de bajo coste de maná y buena vida. Además dispone de la habilidad Flying.

Position 3: Gem Meteor

In third position I will use Gem Meteor. I hope its speed can dodge several enemy hits before it gets hurt.

En tercera posición usaré a Gem Meteor. Espero que su velocidad pueda esquivar varios golpes enemigos antes de caer herido.

Position 4: Venari Crystalsmith

In fourth position I will use Venari Crystalsmith, a must-have card for its healing ability.

En cuarta posición usaré a Venari Crystalsmith, una carta imprescindible por su habilidad de curación.

Position 5: Prismologist

Fifth position for Prismologist. His Blast skill will do a lot of damage to enemy troops.

Quinta posición para Prismologist. Su habilidad Blast hará mucho daño a las tropas enemigas.

Position 6: Silvershield Sheriff

*I've left Silvershield Sheriff for last, for me one of the best cards in Splinter Vida. With an extraordinary attack and a perfect ability when it comes to selecting a creature to kill.

He dejado para el final a Silvershield Sheriff, para mi una de las mejores cartas del Splinter Vida. Con un ataque extraordinario y una habilidad perfecta a la hora de seleccionar una criatura a la que eliminar.

Combat comments: As expected the combat is really tough. I have nothing to defend myself from his magic attacks. The first turn I manage to destroy his Mycelic Slipspawn although I also suffer the casualty of Hero of Beyond.

Como era de esperar el combate es realmente duro. No tengo nada para defenderme de sus ataques mágicos. El primer turno turno consigo destruir a su Mycelic Slipspawn aunque yo sufro también la baja de Hero of Beyond.

The second turn becomes a nightmare, I lose 2 important cards and I see that victory is slipping from my hands. My enemy has more creatures and to make matters worse mine can't attack in first position.

El segundo turno se vuelve en una pesadilla, pierdo 2 cartas importantes y veo que la victoria se me escapa de las manos. Mi enemigo cuanta con más cantidad de criaturas y para colmo las mías no pueden atacar en primera posición.

The third turn I see a little hope, Silvershield Sheriff is selecting the opponent's creatures and eliminating them one after another.

El tercer turno veo un poco esperanza, Silvershield Sheriff está seleccionando a las criaturas del rival y las va eliminando una tras otra.

I finally achieve a hard-fought victory thanks to the help of Silvershield Sheriff who single-handedly defeated the enemy.

Finalmente consigo una victoria muy reñida gracias a la ayuda de Silvershield Sheriff que él solo ha conseguido derrotar al enemigo.

My opinion

Gem Meteor is a card for limited uses in Splinterlands. If we use it together with General Sloan it is very useful thanks to its speed and ability.

Gem Meteor es una carta para usos limitados en Splinterlands. Si la usamos junto con General Sloan es muy útil gracias a su velocidad y habilidad.

From level 3 onwards, it gets more strength and speed, which makes it an interesting card that we can take advantage of thanks to its high speed.

A partir de nivel 3 ya consigue más fuerza y velocidad lo que la hacen una carta interesante y que podemos sacarle mucho partido gracias a su elevada velocidad.
