RE: Hivetycoon

I'm far more curious about whether the game itself is any good. How does yet another Hive Engine token and NFT scheme give real value? Votes/reblogs with a reward incentive verges on spam and reward farming, and could be poorly received. Finally, charging people to play plus charging for ad removal is EA-level sketchiness. I do not have high hopes for this project based on this initial release.

Most games have NFTs and their own tokens, some even have several and are still very successful. At least I think so.
Splinterlands Golem Overloard, Terracore, among others... There are quite a few. And you also have to pay for all of these to be able to take part.

With Splinterlands I had to buy the spellbook, with GO and Terracore it was just a fee.

No matter what you call it, it's basically the same for all of them. It will be the same for me, so that you don't create an infinite number of accounts and get the starting bonus for free.

It won't be forbidden to create several accounts, but I don't think it makes sense.

A 10% annual fee is planned, but active players will probably not pay it, because there will always be promotions to get extensions.

Advertising offers added value because it brings in additional money from external sources. If this is even higher than the costs, something would even get into the hive ecosystem and bring something even for non-players.

I've already given a lot of thought to the game and the whole structure and if I can realise everything the way I want it, it will be different from the other games.

Yeah, there is an obvious purpose to NFTs and tokens in Splinterlands. They serve a direct gameplay function. What do yours do?

Broadly seeking, games are ad-supported if they are free to play. Otherwise, they are either subscription-based or a one-time purchase, and neither of these tend to have ad intrusions. If you say yours has ads, an up-front fee,and a subscription, and no news on what the game actually is, it looks like a cash grab and not a game.

My game will be no different, the token will have several functions, I've already written something about that, but it's still being kept secret.

Because I don't want anyone to beat me to it. A game has already been partially copied. And I'm not even ready for it to go online yet.

In contrast to some other games (currently Rise of the Pixels, for example), you can't pay the fee for mine before it's ready to be played, and when it is, you'll find enough information here to decide whether you want it or not.

My motto is: just because others do it doesn't mean I have to do it exactly the same way. Right?

With streaming there was also advertising or paid, Netflix now offers a combination.
