Fortune Favors the Prepared Mind
If there's an important thing life has taught me in the last few months it's the importance of being prepared. Morgan Housel did a great job of making that stand out in his book. Robert Greene did the same with his laws of power, and Jim Collins did too. All three made sure I did not forget that uncertainties, chaos, and luck are some of the reasons why most people or businesses become successful and others don't.

The way we handle all three elements is as important as the air we breathe because this will determine where we end up in our personal finance and where our business ends up in the list of successful ones.
No matter how spiritual we get with our finances and always wish we will land that huge amount of money that will take all our problems away, the reality is that these kinds of incidents are rare. The ones we prepared for and took cognizant of the role of luck, uncertainties and circumstances will stand the test of time and maybe bring us that huge amount of money that will take all of our problems away.
Anne has a mantra that Lisa kept dear to her and she always said;
The most lethal weapon you can carry into battle is preparation.
When you are prepared for anything, nothing takes you by surprise. In short, learning to see several steps ahead of your financial positionings and decisions will help you consciously not abuse the margin of safety. You will be able to know just how much you need around to help you move past a bear season or a bull run.
It's worthy of note that even though we can't predict the future, we have the power to create it just as the two expedition leaders Roald Amundsen and Robert Falcon Scott prepared differently for the trip to the north pole and had completely different results. You should always try to plan in such as way that even in uncertainties, you still thrive. Taking the necessary precautions in time will help you become victorious in a way that other people might claim it's luck.
The years of practice and consistent effort would look tiny to the onlookers because they might not be able to fathom the energy and sacrifices that went into creating strategic plans that helped you accomplish all of your financial goals.
By remaining disciplined, being paranoid, and using all of the creativity that you can fathom, a lot of changes will begin to take place as you keep adding layers and layers of results to your actions.
When you understand that there's every tendency for things to change at some point in your financial journey, you will be prepared for the inevitable. Even though things are moving positively and successfully, staying alert and not losing guard will sustain you until you get back on your feet. You should also know that being prepared means you are expecting the worst-case scenario but you place the necessary things in place so that this bad luck wouldn't stop you from reaching your financial goals.
