Indian Cine Actor emerges as "Crypto King"
In an interesting development related to the Cine world in India, senior Actor Amitabh Bachhan emerged as the crypto currency investor who made killing by making investments in a company called Meridian Tech.
The whole media was buzz with the cine actor making the money in Crypto currencies. Cine actors are making a lots of investments in the crypto currencies as they feel they can encash the NFT boom.
NFT is a blockchain based digital asset. If a common person like you and me issue the same it would have a little value but if the celebrity backs it then it derives a lot more value. Hence, there are many global celebrities who are issuing their NFT tokens.
This list also includes Amitabh Bachhan, who reportedly made Rs. 1.12 Billion from the meagre investment of Rs. 11 million odd amount.
It is hard to believe that Meridian Tech is doing anything related to crypto-currencies. Their website if this is the one, doesn't even mention the word crypto currencies.
The company which is reported to have received the investments from the Indian cine star is supposed to be a IT storage company. It is interesting to note that the company also holds a web portal ziddu.com, which is a very generic website where no person with sound knowledge of IT will ever invest.

But the investment of these cine stars in India in 2015 became 10 fold is reported as crypto investments. This shows the overall understanding about the crypto world in India's investment and media fraternity.
This also shows how the media is frenzied to report something on crypto currencies.

But did he really invest in the cryptocurrencies? I think its some media gimmic, he invested in a company which is a centralised institution and crypto currencies are decentralised. Its quite funny to see such media articles
Sometimes the celebrities try and tag themselves with the changing trend. In India the Crypto currencies will now have a lot more weightage than before as their finance minister discuss the issue in an important annual event.
