Voice actors of cartoons, The real heroes

Hello everyone, it's Cartoon and Animation Day on Inleo! So today we are asked to write about cartoons or animations.

While I was coming up with this prompt I couldn't help but smile as I went down memory lane, reminiscing on all the good times I had while watching my favorite cartoons and not having to think about anything in this world. Just being comfortably seated in my father's living room and paying rapt attention to the different cartoon shows on Disney Channel and singing along.

Back then, my only problem was worrying about missing a cartoon show on Disney Channel or getting the lyrics of a song and sometimes arguing the lines from these cartoon shows with my siblings. Indeed my childhood was fun.

The older I got the more I wondered how these cartoon characters were able to talk. As the years rolled by my curiosity level grew and that was when I decided to read more about the acting process, then I discovered how these cartoon characters came to life as a result of “voice acting” and I was thrilled.

Over the years I have come to fall in love with voice acting and I still cannot wrap my head around how these actors give life to these cartoon characters. These voice actors go above and beyond to breathe life into their characters thereby holding us spellbound and glued to our screens.

I have come to understand that voice acting is way more than reciting lines from a script or speaking with a microphone as it is turning the character into a living being, manipulating different accents to fit each character, depicting the character’s mood with your voice, making weird and funny sounds, singing and becoming a performer behind the character.

I also realized that as a voice actor for cartoons, your imagination plays a big part in creating your ideal character. A voice actor does not just rely on the directives of the script he or she is given, instead he or she brings the extra that isn’t part of the script.

Like one of the voice actors I follow on YouTube said “Voice acting is you being played through something else” meaning there’s more work to do than you can ever imagine and it’s surprising how they always nail it.

The more I read and watched clips of various voice actors doing their magic the more my respect grew for them. Giving life to something and sustaining that life to the very end is no easy task.

These voice actors are heroes who work behind the scenes to produce great cartoon shows, shows we love, shows we get glued to, and some we consider our favorites. We don’t get to see the faces of these heroes but we see the magic they do.

A lot of people can’t mention up to 10 voice actors of cartoon shows but we know tons of cartoon shows. These heroes are not popular but their characters are popular.

I love cartoons so much and mentioning them would probably make this post “unreadable” to a lot of people. I love the fact that in cartoons the impossible happens😂 there are fewer tragedies and more comedies. I love how cartoons were instrumental to my growth and development mentally.

In conclusion, I appreciate every voice actor out there doing his or her magic. We might not celebrate all of them often but we hear them, we feel their emotions and we are dazzled by their magic.

To every voice actor out there keep pushing as the sky is just your starting point.
