O Sertão está presente em grande parte da Região Nordeste do Brasil, sua principal característica é a falta de água ou um longo período de seca. Esta situação faz com que grande parte da população desta zona sobreviva em situações extremas, racionando água e cultivando plantas específicas desta época do ano para sobreviver. A soma das dificuldades e as informações descritas nos filmes sobre a região, fizeram com que as pessoas criassem um estereótipo onde as pessoas presentes neste ambiente são: analfabetas, pobres, incivilizadas e ligadas ao campo.
Quando assistimos a vídeos e documentários sobre o Sertão Nordestino, eles fazem questão de enfatizar e demonstrar situações de extrema pobreza e miséria, reforçando o pensamento de pessoas que desconhecem a área. Algo comum nesses vídeos: a presença de casas antigas feitas de barro e paus, pessoas com roupas humildes, há sempre alguém pronto para trabalhar no campo e a todo momento é mencionado que a falta de água é predominante, tornando a situação um espetáculo aos olhos de quem o vê.
A REALIDADE ATUAL
O povo do Nordeste é um povo sofredor que, ao longo dos anos, superou essas dificuldades. A seca ainda é um problema, porém a modernidade já chegou nesta região, existem cisternas, reservatórios e represas para armazenar água, mandalas e inúmeras situações que foram criadas para minimizar os efeitos dos grandes períodos de seca na região. “Essas áreas se modernizaram ao longo dos anos, atualmente você não verá o que é transmitido nos filmes”
Há características específicas que observo neste povo sofredor, que vão desde a luta diária até à capacidade de se reerguer e superar as adversidades presentes numa zona tão inóspita para o seu povo. Além de todas as adversidades naturais, o Nordeste é vez ou outra alvo de preconceitos e fake news relacionados ao sotaque, posição social e caráter dos moradores da região. Uma forma de preconceito que atualmente não atinge tanto essas pessoas, pois sua realidade já é a sua maior preocupação.
A sociedade, independente de área ou região, está conectada como um todo, a cultura diversificada e suas manifestações estão presentes independente da região. Mesmo diante de um cenário de seca, é possível admirar e desfrutar das manifestações culturais nordestinas que encantam o mundo: festas juninas, artesanato, culinária, capoeira, frevo, manifestações religiosas, entre inúmeras outras situações que são apreciadas por muitos .
O mundo é uma máquina de opiniões, não há como agradar a todos, por isso as ações negativas devem ser esquecidas, combatidas e apagadas da história ao longo do tempo.
O Nordeste é uma terra repleta de belezas naturais e seus moradores estão de braços abertos para os visitantes, são pessoas acolhedoras. Resumindo: o suor, os calos nas mãos e o cansaço de uma vida de muito trabalho e superação definem o que é ser do NORDESTE e as características de seu povo NORDESTINO.

THE CURRENT REALITY
The people of the Northeast are suffering people who, over the years, have overcome these difficulties. There are specific characteristics that I observe in this suffering people, which range from the daily struggle to the ability to rise again and overcome the adversities present in an area so inhospitable for its people. In addition to all the natural adversities, the Northeast is occasionally the target of prejudice and fake news related to the accent, social position and character of the region's residents. A form of prejudice that currently does not affect these people as much, as their reality is already their biggest concern.
Society, regardless of area or region, is connected as a whole, diverse culture and its manifestations are present regardless of the region. Even in the face of a drought, it is possible to admire and enjoy the northeastern cultural manifestations that enchant the world: June festivals, crafts, cuisine, capoeira, frevo, religious manifestations, among countless other situations that are appreciated by many.
The world is an opinion machine, there is no way to please everyone, which is why negative actions must be forgotten, fought and erased from history over time.
The Northeast is a land full of natural beauty and its residents have open arms for visitors, they are welcoming people. In short: sweat, calluses on your hands and tiredness from a life of hard work and overcoming define what it means to be from the NORTHEAST and the characteristics of its NORTHEAST people.
