The land feature has been eagerly anticipated, and the latest update from the team suggests that it will soon be available with a range of features.
If we look into the dates provided in the white paper the Phase 1.5 will expected on Q3 of 2013 which includes the Card/ DAR ENERGY CRYSTAL (DEC) staking & Resource Production. The Phase 1.5 will allow the players to start utilizing their lands and also increase the utilization of the cards and DEC.

The initial release will focus on staking cards on lands, as well as on starting production and moving goods across different regions. DEC will be crucial in this process, as players will need to use the inbuilt current DEC to clean Lands and to power them for production. Getting started with production will require a significant amount of DEC, which raises the question of how the DEC and Splintershards(SPS) prices will react once the land is in production. Although SPS token price is currently on the low side, the start of production could add more value to the area, contributing to a negative effect on price. However, it will be interesting to compare how much DEC is required for production on land and how many rewards we can expect to see from the lands. Ultimately, whether or not it is profitable to put effort into land production remains to be seen.
The good thing is of you have purchased a Building Box Package during the surveying land deeds then you do not have to pay the DEC or other resource which would be required to begin construction of a building, it also includes the a free Power Source, which will be able to be used in game.

Cards will Play Important Role on Lands

Certainly, the Splinterlands NFT cards will play a pivotal role in land development and production. These cards will serve as the workforce, responsible for constructing buildings and generating resources on the Lands. Each land plot can utilize up to 5 cards as workers, with the exception of Runi. The productivity of these cards will vary, some being more efficient than others. The accumulation of older cards translates to higher production points, leading to increased rewards.

In addition to the familiar delegation concept, the introduction of Land brings forth a novel approach: staking the cards. To employ them as workers on lands, cards must first be locked via staking. Soulbound cards can also be used on lands, requiring a payment of DEC as a manifest.

Once staked on a land plot, cards are exclusively committed to their role and cannot be deployed in battles, delegated, or rented. The process of unstaking is initiated to free the cards for other purposes. Immediate effects are observed when unstaking begins; however, it takes 3 days for a card to be fully available for unlocking, delegation, renting, battle deployment, or reassignment to another land plot.

It is important to note that during the unstaking process, the production of cards on the land ceases immediately. New cards can be promptly placed in the vacated positions. This system ensures a dynamic interplay between card utilization, land development, and resource generation.

The Legendary cards are always most valuable cards in the game and they are most effective and more efficient cards on Lands also as they have highest production points.

The foundational value of Production Points (PP) utilized in these computations is established based on a card at its maximum level. For the assessment of cards at lower levels, the methodology involves dividing the maximum BCX of the specific card by the BCX of the card at the lower level. This connection is not inherently tied to the card's level but is intricately linked to the BCX count of the card.

For those in possession of cards from earlier editions, an enhancement in Production Points is attainable upon deploying these cards. The tabulated information provided serves as the groundwork for determining Production Points across various card editions. Notably, cards from earlier editions contribute substantially higher PP values compared to their newer edition counterparts. This discrepancy is illustrated in the table below, where Alpha cards, for instance, yield a remarkable 10-fold boost over the fundamental PP benchmark.

My Best Card For Lands

nft

As per my understanding any edition Legendary card is the best cards to use on Lands and if the card is Gold Foil then it will give the more then 8X Production Points. I am holding some Gold Foil Legendary cards as shown in the above screenshot. Out of those four cards two belongs to the Chose Legion Edition and two are form the Untamed Edition. Chose Legion will not give any boost but the Untamed will have 2X boost which surely will help me to boost the Production.

Final Conclusion

If you want to aggressively participate in the Production and want to boost your Production Points then this is the right time to built your collection for lands with best cards a per the information provided above. The card will playa very important role and they will be the key aspect on lands.
