Vegetable and Farm Checking
This is my eggplant plant. I have already shared about it here but since I saw earlier that my crops are healthy I am very happy to share it here. I will increase my efforts to take care of my plants so that when the time is right, something will come of it. With the help of my fences, the animals did not eat my crops and the only thing I will do is apply fertilizer.
These are my chili plants. It was still small when I shared it with our community. But then, it also grows healthy. In fact, a kilo of chili peppers is very expensive here in our area and we also love spicy so I thought of growing chili peppers. Since it's been a while since I've visited here, a lot of weeds have grown in the area so I thought I'd clean and remove them.
This is my muringga plant. I planted with muringga seeds. Now, it has grown very healthy and to maintain its health the weeds around the plants will be removed. Muringga is one of the most nutritious vegetables and many vitamins can be obtained from it. It is delicious added to tinola or any soup.
Checking the Farmland:
In the middle of our journey to our land, we noticed these silica stones that were swept away by the strong current of water. The stones from the high area are now in the lower part of the area. Many places were destroyed and its rocks were also cracked.
We were surprised when we saw this huge piece of land that collapsed due to the soft ground and the incessant rain. The banana and coconut crops have also fallen and are now impassable. This road serves as a short cut for people living in the mountains. We are afraid that the heavy rain will continue before the cracks in my soil widen.
Despite the destruction of other parts of the area, there are still beautiful things we can see, such as this small butterfly perched on the leaf of a wild plant. It shows that the place is beautiful and many more trees and plants have grown here.
We also visited our crops I call lettuce, here near the river. It is delicious to make suman and puto. Flood water cannot reach it because it is planted in a high part of the area. It is easy to grow and multiply, just remove the dry and dead leaves for it to bear fruit.
I was a little saddened by the events that I saw. But I'm still hopeful that bad events like erosion won't happen again in our area.
