Night 🌚 sewing, morning Glory ✨

A Happy Monday and a great week ahead lovely hivers and my fellow creative needleworkers.

Have you ever tried your needlework at night time? I don't know much about other types of needlework like crocheting, one thing I know for sure is that it requires lots of time and patience. What happens when you have less time, definitely patience is cut short as well, and sewing even during the day takes a lot of time, sometimes we pause to take a break reason why we spend days or weeks making a dress.

I've written here how sewing inspires me in lots of ways I can't imagine was ever possible, in moments when I felt down, I got encouraged to rise again to face the world. This time it was no different. I was done with my work for the day, so I thought, but I had an event to attend the next day, I even made some dresses to be worn by some of the ladies, but mine was still in its raw fabric stage,

I can't meet up, I thought, its night already, maybe evening, it was 7:00 pm, I kept telling myself one thousand reasons it wasn't possible to make the style I wished to make, just then a thought came, what if you can? Without some sacrifice of course, but what if?

This happens to a lot of us in different spheres of life, we've given up because we think it's already late for us to meet up with the rest, ask yourself this question, What if I can?

Looking at the time once again, it's 8:00 pm, I grabbed a cup of coffee, prepared for me by my sweet mum, with determination I started drafting my patterns, I wanted a dress with a Basque waistline, combining this beautiful floral African print fabric and lace

I've seen a lot of bare basque waistlines, I wanted mine to be a bit dramatic, one of my favorite perks of being a fashion designer, I can make a switch in my design in the process of making if I get inspired to, so I decided to make a basket form of design on mine.

For the base of my dress, I just went for a simple straight skirt pattern.

If you've been following my blogs, you would have noticed my love for dramatic sleeves, and yes I went extra with my sleeves ha ha combining puffy and flare sleeves, bridged by the lace fabric and the outcome unique and beautiful.

I finished in the early hours of the morning, spending 11 hours on this dress, also I had about an hour to prepare for the event, happily, I arrived,

and when I get complimented, for how unique and beautiful my dress looked, I was happy to say I made them myself which gave me extra beautiful clients. To make up for the night spent making the dress, I made sure to rest and sleep well, also eat a nutritious meal.
