Tutorial? How to Lose 10 Diamond Chests in One Swift Move!

No, no, don't try this yourself, this is NOT a tutorial!

It is however what I managed to do. Check it out.

Ok. I need an introduction.

The weather where I live is not very fun during summertime if you need to work outside during the day. While in some parts of the world is raining a lot, here the heat is an issue.

I needed to mow the loanlawn before the garbage is taken out. And that I can only do early in the morning before the heat starts becoming a problem. But not too early either, because neighbors have kids who might still be asleep.

So, what do I do? I play Splinterlands, of course, in the meantime.

And I do pretty well. Not exceptional, but the results were good. By the time I depleted my ECR for the day I earned 10 diamond chests.

Now here's when the fun part starts. Being in a hurry to go mow the loanlawn before the heat becomes unbearable for working outside, what did I do?

I still had almost 2 hours until the current focus mission was about to end, but somehow my brain shortcutted and I thought I could just go to the next focus mission right then.

Which I did. Of course, that's possible. What my brain didn't comprehend during those moments was that I'd lose my focus chests already earned, because that's what happens when you change your focus mission. Which I did.

10 diamond chests down the drain...

Time wasted and the daily ECR depleted.

You can imagine the thoughts that went through my mind during those moments...

Now you can make fun of me! I'm over it, lol. Really... I even mowed the loanlawn.

Lol... I don't know much about splinterland but I can relate to what happened to you. It's always like that when we are in a haste. We end up falling into the danger of missing golden opportunities 😂😂.

The good thing about your case is that what you lost isn't something you paid for and I understand that it's still a painful experience to earn that and still lose it in a way that can be said to be unfair. Lol

The only good thing about this is that Splinterlands is after all a game. Nothing was life-threatening in what I did, because I wasn't paying attention for a second.

Haha... Btw, I hope you did a good job mowing the lawn.

Splinterlands is after all a game

Yep! That's a good point.

I'm the expert of the family in mowing the lawn, lol.

Is mowing the loan how you get money off HDB? Just interesting you used the word loan every place lawn would be used.

Now, that's an even better reason to make fun of me, lol!

Oh my... Where was my head? I use 'lawn' so infrequently and they sound alike that I tend to use the one I use more often. Not really an expert at mowing the lawn terms in English. I had to look up the expression (mow the lawn), by the way. And still used the wrong word out of habit, lol.

I was wondering about that too.

So you translate as you write. That's a pretty cool skill.

I can only write in English and in Spanish and when I write in English I think in English when I write in Spanish I think in Spanish.

I'm "smarter" in English.

I can only write in English and in Spanish and when I write in English I think in English when I write in Spanish I think in Spanish.

That happens to me with my native language and English.

I don't know if that happens to you, but I kind of 'hear' the words in my head as I type. If they sound wrong, I know I made a mistake or that I need to re-write in a different way.

This mistake was interesting because both words sound almost the same, and my internal checker got confused, lol.

It is kind of like an internal dialogue.

I learned Spanish first, but since I use English more, in Spanish my writing is klunkier, and has a smaller vocabulary.

I feel your pain. I have done something similar in the past. I just wasn't brave enough (or smart enough) to write about it. Maybe you will at least recoup some of your loss from this post.

I'm actually thinking to play with the new focus mission later today and probably early in the morning if I can squeeze some Splinterlands before the focus mission expires. Since it's a good focus, maybe I'll at least go to champ league so that the next day I can finally play for champion chests. I miss them already, lol.

Sorry for your loss. I did something similar and changed the focus with 12 hours to go.

Did you lose any earnings? Because otherwise, I've done it before, but without losing chests. The first time I've done it after the focus missions were introduced I did something like that - changed focus when it was halfway through, but I hadn't earned any chests yet. What it did was mess up the "reset schedule" though.

Don't remember if the chest I had already earned got erased. I think it resets?

You know I am not a splinter player but I know enough to know that really sucks!
Oh well, easy come, easy go. lol

Oh well, easy come, easy go. lol

Haha, if you count in the frustration, not so easy. I just played a bunch of matches. Only won one and drew one.

Oh man, it is most definitely not an "easy come" type of things, sometimes splinterlands sucks your time up.

I kind of want to make fun of you. I kind of feel your pain.

You weren't really multitasking, but you WERE multitasking as your head was somewhere else.

I call it Mom Brain.

But since you're not a mom, I guess its just funny.

HAHAHA

You women always need to remind us we can't do more things at once, lol!

Which is true, of course!

But as devs say, it's a feature, not a bug, lol. That way we can focus on one thing. Hopefully.....
