My Hive Goals (Week 24, 2024)

This is a short sum-up table with the state of my goals in easier TLDR form. The table has only a general overview, with details expanded in the post.

52-Week HBD Savings Challenge

A 52-week challenge following the popular model starts slowly and becomes increasingly more difficult with every passing week. The challenge is not at the beginning but at the end. That's why, we can use the easy start to prepare for the tougher weeks ahead.

In my case, I started with 1 HBD in week 1. This is also the step that increases the amount I need to save every week. The rule is, in my case: I need to add to savings the amount of HBD per week equal to the week number in the challenge. That means, in week 52 I'll need to save 52 HBD.

We are in the 25th week of the 52-week HBD challenge. That means I added 25 HBD to the savings for this particular goal, and reached 325 HBD, without counting the accrued interest.

Here's how things look right now:

Note: You can see there is already a small discrepancy in the totals between the spreadsheet and what is in the wallet. That is because of some approximations and easy calculations in the spreadsheet.

I needed to use over 5 HBD from my reserves to reach the necessary 25 HBD this week.

Given the great discounts for HIVE at the moment, I decided to use part of my HBD reserves to buy HIVE, thinking in a few months time I will earn much more from the price appreciation of HIVE than the 20% APR from HBD in savings. I haven't touched my HBD from the 52-week challenge, even though, in theory, if I were to ignore this challenge and focus on the risen opportunity, it would probably be more profitable.

Posting & Commenting Goal

I haven't missed a daily post this year yet. Reached 1823 posts published, with 187 left to hit the target in 2024. That puts the progress at 48% where 46.15% was needed to be in the green.

Here's the situation so far:

I haven't missed any edition of Week through Adrian's Lenses in 2024 either, and I mention this since it's also part of my posting goal. Overall, I reached the 75th edition of the weekly roundup which debuted at the beginning of 2023.

I also started the week with 19,218 comments made. Ended the week with 19300, which means I made 82 comments last week, which is below the weekly average needed to reach the comments target by the end of the year.

I currently need an average of 97 comments weekly to reach the comments target by the end of the year.

LEO Staked

My LEO stake increased to 24,200 LP after the 200 LEO powerup on LPUD. No more pooled LEO for now...

Here's the current situation:

If I participate in the future LPUDs as before, with 200 LEO power-ups, and nothing else staked throughout the months, this goal should be completed in October.

Splinterlands: Increase Grain PP to 400,000

Goal started in week 19.

What's the progress so far?

Started previous week at 329,690 PP. Today's number is 332,133 PP. That's +2,443 PP, below my needed average. I need around +2615 PP weekly to complete this goal until mid-December.

Land Plots Unlocked - Completed

Goal completed in Week 18, with the following situation at the time:

73 plots were productive and 27 were still under construction.

Currently, 86 plots are productive out of 100, with 14 still under construction (still clearing). 1 plot became productive this week.

ZING Multiplier - Completed

Goal completed in week 10 with 25,203 ZING.

Since then, I slowly grew my stash from staking rewards only. Waiting for sales.

My ZING holdings are now at 26,522.

This was the final situation when the goal was achieved, I won't keep updating it:

I have so much respect for you bro seeing your goals, you've got a solid plan in place for your goals man. Keeping track week by week seems like a smart strategy. Good luck with reaching your targets bro. !WEED

Keeping track week by week seems like a smart strategy.

It helps, in multiple ways. First, you form a routine of doing certain activities or tasks toward achieving your goals every week. Then, you have a history of your evolution for the goals tracked, which can help set better goals in the future. Then, they are public. This can be a good thing or a bad thing. I know people who don't see a reason for such posts... You can can keep your private records (and I do for other goals). But by being public, they can serve as inspiration to others, and I've often seen cases where people said that, and also, you might need encouragement with a goal at some point, or maybe an advice.

Yes good friend and let me add myself to those people because I get inspired whenever I see your goals... If you check my account you'd realize I'm only about 2 months in and I keep everything I earn invested because I have a long term goal on Hive

Unfortunately, I didn’t post yesterday cos I was too busy
I missed the daily posting streak again
That’s sad!

If you post most days is still very consistent. I don't have a goal of posting every day this year, for example. I left a margin in case I'll miss some days.

It's tough to pick between Hive and HBD. Hive has more upward potential but HBD is more stable. That is why I would still add to HBD every week. Though if Hive dropped down to 10 cents, I might convert my HBD into Hive.

Though if Hive dropped down to 10 cents

I don't think it will... One of the mistakes people make is trying to time the bottom (or the top). Another is to catch the falling knife. Since they are practically opposite, it may seem you can't be right whatever you do. 😀 Well, you can be right too. You can buy either regularly or higher quantities as the price goes down (or when it reaches certain levels).

If it doesn't, I am happy with my HBD. It's fine either way.
