LEO-CACAO Pool: 300% APR on Maya Right Now

The LEO-CACAO pool had the highest APR on Maya for some time. Don't look at me, I haven't caught that! Checking the situation now, it seems to be second, and dropping, because we know this APR is fluctuating and getting lower with more liquidity added to the pool.

Screenshot from explorer.mayachain.info/pools

Still, a very high APR, compared to the following pools for the time being.

I noticed tweets shared regarding the APR by the Inleo account while I was checking if some other information was shared on the Twitter account by the team.

Here's how things were looking two days ago (screenshot from here):

As expected, the APR is going down sharply, but the most important thing that comes from this is visibility for LEO. That's free publicity on the Maya Protocol.

Unfortunately, for those curious enough to dig deep enough to find out that Arbitrum LEO is linked to LEO on Hive-Engine, which is the reward token for the iNLEO platform, INLEO suffered an outage yesterday that lasted for a while. Not sure exactly how long, because even today when I wanted to write my post it showed the gateway timeout, but this time it was solved by hard-refreshing the browser (which didn't work yesterday). If anyone from the outside checked it out during the downtime, it probably didn't look good.

Anyway, if someone wants to jump into the pool for the high APR and then jump out, instead of staying for a longer term, they should take into consideration elements like fees and slippage. I don't recommend this kind of maneuver to anyone who doesn't know what they are doing.

But to add liquidity to the LEO-CACAO pool (or to the LEO-SWAP.HIVE side on Hive-Engine) and let it be on at least a medium term, to earn some fees, I don't see why not. If you aren't the adventurous type and don't want to get out of the Hive ecosystem, the LEO-SWAP.HIVE pool is just fine, provided you have an interest in both tokens. If you see yourself using the Maya Protocol in the future, given the high APR now, I would take a good look at this option.

The apr is attracting, but it will decrease with time. Inleo website is working now.

Yes, I know. That's how these things work. I posted from Inleo, so I discovered it works. Thanks.

Like marketing pros say, there is nothing worse than a good marketing for a bad product. And InLeo is buggy, let´s face it, also apart from that down time.

That is true. They need to make it less buggy, which seems to be their focus nowadays, for INLEO, as much as LeoDex gave them any time to focus on something else. Hopefully, it will work.

I also tried using Inleo yesterday but it wasn’t really working fine
I didn’t know it was a general issue

Yeah, it seems to have been a general issue, after checking discord.

Hi @gadrian. LEO-CACAO is very interesting. I don't see the name LEO-CACAO on the charts you provided. Is LEO-CACAO given name? Thank you. Barb !BBH !CTP #ctp

In the first image, it's listed as ARB.LEO (which means Arbitrum LEO), in the second image just LEO. They both refer to the LEO-CACAO pool on Maya.

OK @gadrian Thank you. Yes I noticed the ARB.LEO and I looked up the meaning of Arbitrum. Does CACAO refer to chocolate by any chance? Cacao is an ingredient in the chocolate plant and in Dark chocolate. It is healthy and good for you and dark chocolate is a great pick me up!

Arbitrum is a technology suite designed to scale Ethereum. You can use Arbitrum chains to do all things you do on Ethereum — use Web3 apps, deploy smart contracts, etc., but your transactions will be cheaper and faster.Apr 18, 2024

CACAO is the main token on Maya. Kind of like HIVE on Hive. Don't ask me how they choose these exotic names...

Initially this is a good opportunity for us, we should stack here and keep taking profits.

I'm not sure if the pool position auto-compounds with fees or if they are added when you withdraw. If I remember correctly, on Thorchain (which means on Maya too), fees are paid when you withdraw from the pool. On Hive-Engine they are autocomponded to the position.

It's nice to see the pool as the highest APR pool and I hope it attracts more people over.

As for the outage, it happened last night so I ended up using PeakD. When I went to sleep, it was still down so it was down for at least 2-3 hours.

In the pool, for sure. On INLEO, maybe the ones who research projects in detail.

It was longer than that. When I started writing my weekly news post (on PeakD) it was out. When I finished, probably about 4-5 hours later, it was still out.

Wow, that APR is high. I agree that it is a great publicity for LEO. I added some liquidity on the LEO:Swap.Hive pool, but only a small amount since I barely have any LEO. Hopefully this publicity leads to more people checking out the Hive ecosystem.

I see the APR hasn't dropped at all since yesterday. I added some liquidity to the LEO-CACAO pool too yesterday. Already had some on the diesel pool side.

I think a better chance of checking out the Hive ecosystem is through LeoDex. But I'm not sure if they implemented already the route from Maya to Hive yet. The other way around it was implemented among the first.

I don't recommend this kind of maneuver to anyone who doesn't know what they are doing.

The last time I did this, I got burned. Though waiting would mean a lower APR, that's better than seeing your capital disappear.

It's very difficult to account for fees, slippage, and IL when trying to catch high APRs, especially if the pool is not deep enough.
