Decentralization Needs Cooperation To Be Better Than Centralization

Yes, many of us know decentralization or centralization are on a spectrum rather than a binary choice.

It is said that in the short term centralized organizations always win because their top-down hierarchy makes them more efficient in making important decisions and focusing than decentralized ones, but the open-source nature that is often associated with the latter makes innovation more likelier and to come from various groups that are unrelated.

Maybe that's true. But my experience on Hive and the recent few days trying to get on Solana (initially without using a CEX), made me realize that progress in decentralized organizations is hindered when different organizations or different parts of the same organization don't find the same language to communicate and ways to build infrastructure that brings together, rather than segregate. We are consciously or unconsciously slowly bringing the idea of silos from Web 2 into Web 3, building visible or invisible walls instead of demolishing them. Not everyone is doing that, but many are.

It is discouraging to see that years after AMMs, DEXes, and bridges came into existence in the crypto space (or even the idea, not sure if put into practice widely, of atomic swaps), the easiest route to move things around from one ecosystem to another, if they are not related (like EVMs are), is still via CEXes. Guarded gateways to and from fiat, and also between ecosystems or clusters of ecosystems. How nice! Ecosystems apparently like it like that, or they would start building bridges between them, and make them user-friendly.

I finally moved SOL to Solana. After I updated my KYC on Coinbase yesterday, the actual process of sending SOL to Solana took only a few minutes, that's because I had a few tokens over there that I earned from completing lessons in the past, and converted them to SOL. Moving it to SOL was almost instant. I staked a little bit and that's it. I'm already tired of Solana, need a break... 😀 And move on to other important things!

I’m sure you’re tired of Solana because you wish to acquire more knowledge on other things since you have earned from it and also know so many things about it

Hmm, not really. I just managed to get into Solana after 2+ days of hassle, lol.

I find this true and there are several ways to build such a wall. Better to build bridges.

Better to build bridges.

Always. Sometimes we forget that, including myself.

I always believed if there is the necessary strategy and structure in place, we can see a more better side of Decentralization

Hard to have a unified strategy in a decentralized organization.

It's definitely tough when there aren't any easy bridges between blockchains. I think WAX and EOS was pretty good because there was a bridge but I think those 2 are getting delisted from HE soon.

Ah, sorry, I missed this comment. Yes, SWAP.WAX and SWAP.EOS will no longer be supported on Hive-Engine.
