Why Eating Healthy Is Vital To Our Skin Health ||| Med-Hive Weekly Discussion -Skin Health

Last week I talked a bit about how vital is eating healthy is to our skin health, in this post and today's post, I will tell you the why?

A lot of people use to make the mistake of focusing only on the product they apply to their body thereby neglecting the one if not the most important area they are supposed to take very seriously when they desire good-looking and healthy skin.

The Result Of Your Skin Is Largely Due To Your Food Choices

I discovered something about my skin during the lockdown which I try to implement up till today as much as possible.

Before the lockdown, I discovered that my skin was aging very fast, and not as fresh as it should and I was worried thinking about ways I could change how healthy my skin will look. My business was a bit time-consuming, and I will have to eat out mostly during the day, something I don't like doing due to hygiene reasons and other risks associated with eating outside.

So, When the lockdown was announced in March 2020, I saw a big opportunity to change my eating strategy and turn my skin condition around. The first thing I did was to stock our house with enough food, as we don't know how long it will last or how strict the rules will go.

I did the shopping with a lot of food healthy choices in mind. Shop for Lots of fruits, fibers, vegetables, proteins, and other classes of healthy foodstuffs. I made those healthy food choices consciously..

In four weeks, the lockdown was partially lifted and friends that were seeing me for the first time in those four weeks began to wonder what time of skincare products I was using. And when I tell them I don't have any serious skincare brand or routine I was doubted by most of them.

I replaced my soft drinks with this homemade tiger nut milk drink. A super food with high levels of fiber and vitamin E: I began to take lots of fruits and vegetables with my food. Couples with drinking enough water regularly. And my skin began to glow from the inside out.

Having a skincare routine like, applying skin lotion on the body, twice a day for moisturizing, morning and night, and scrubbing our skin to exfoliate three times a week. Not exposing our skin to harsh weather conditions is great and more importantly, making sure those products are healthy and quality.

But most often people spend fortunes on skin care products without tackling the issue from its routes, that is eating healthy. Our skin like our overall body system depends largely on what we eat for how good or bad it turned out.

So, while putting energy into buying healthy skin care products don't forget to put enough energy and thoughts into what you are eating.

"Eat healthy and your skin will thank you for it"

Another great mistake people make with their skin is using harsh products, most often those products are cheap but promised good skin.

Be careful and don't let your skin fall victim to that. The truth is good skin care products are expensive. I have one policy, it is either I can afford a good quality skin care product or I buy no products at all. This has been saving my pocket and skin at the same time as bad skin products are worst than not using any. So think twice before you make that purchase, will it help your skin or make it worst?

Choosing good skincare products can be a bit challenging, do thorough research about your skin, and seek professional advice where necessary. Stick with a good quality product, eat healthily and watch how wonderful your skin will turn out.

These are my two cents into this week's med-hive weekly discussion theme for this week, skin health.

Take care and take very good care of your skin as our skin is the first impression we show to people even before they get to know us.

Thank you very much for reading me, and I'm glad you found it informative.

Food has so many roles to play on our skin and most times people just forget.

"Eat healthy and your skin will thank you for it"
I just fell in love with this quote, wow so true.
And its good to see you practicing what you preach too.
Well done.

Its true that when we eat healthy we get to show for it on our skin than rubbing all sorts of cream and buying drug, food health is really a good way to check skin health. And this is why

The skin serves as a big juncture for immunity which protects from diseases, the best way to replenish is is via healthy diets because it is also continuously braking down as we wash dead cells of daily.

Thank you for your thoughtful input @jaydr yes, if we eat right we can prevent so much skin problems just like other health issues can be prevented through eating the right food.
