Important Keys To Building A Healthy Relationship ||| LOH #121

I think the most important thing to do when one is considering a relationship is to find someone whom one is compatible with and then start building with the person.

When I met my partner, I saw him just like myself as someone who has a lot of growing up to do and we were both willing to continue to work on ourselves into becoming a better version. And that right there is called compatibility we both have a common goal.

After this, other things I discussed below can follow. Do I believe love should happen suddenly? no, I don't.

Yes, I can like a person's appearance for the first time but it takes time to discover who the person is, and his character and fall in love gradually.

Communication as a key to healthy relationship

Communication is one very important key to a healthy relationship. Knowing how to express your feelings respectfully all the time to one's partner will help build a strong and healthy relationship.

Honesty and trust

Trust they say is the bedrock of a successful relationship. Being honest with ourselves right from day one has helped build trust between the two of us over time. And this has helped us rely on each other and grow stronger with time.

Empathy

Putting myself in my partner's shoes, and trying to feel how he feels has helped our relationship grow stronger. This way I don't judge him unnecessarily hereby avoiding issues between us.

Commitment

You can not talk about healthy relationships without commitment. Emotional, financial, and time commitments contribute greatly to what keeps my marriage going.

Mutual respect

Respecting hubby and at the same time reciprocating that respect to me is one of our keys to having a healthy relationship in our marriage.

Positive psychology

Focusing on the good sides of each other helps us to appreciate ourselves more. This is very important because when things get rough which will definitely happens, doing this might be the only smart way forward.

Conflict resolution

There Is a saying in my language that, 'it is highly possible for two loads in one basket to touch each other'. In our marriage, there are times we do disagree but we are always ready to listen to one another, understanding each other's perspective and resolving our issues amicably is how we move past our disagreements and come out stronger.

Lastly, always strive to make each other happy. There are times I do some random act of kindness or love to hubby and this always brings some spice to our relationship. Stay in the moment and make it count. Forgive as much as possible and always be willing to apologize when you did something wrong.

Watching my parents hold on to 35 years of marriage and still have a healthy relationship, and couples with my years of dating and marriage. These are what I have learned to do so to have healthy and strong relationships.

What do you do to have that healthy relationship of yours going? I'm eager to hear it in the comment section.

I hope the best for you and your partner. I agree that relationships need trust and empathy, commitment and mutual respect. I'm not sure many people know what "compatible" means when they are looking. Someone like yourself may not be compatible. It's like magnets or a lock and key. The opposite of ourselves is often the best fit. Together they make one.

Someone like yourself may not be compatible

I get you. Off course, we have areas we are very much different, the correct word opposite. but our goals have always been very similar.

Thank you very much, for your good wishes.

You definitely have a lot of experience and everything I am seeing here is coming from someone who is matured.

I don't believe in love at first sight as well, everything involves a process and it would be a lie for me to fall in love when I haven't gotten to know the lady.

Your recipes for making your relationship a healthy one are all on point, thanks for sharing this with us.

Disagreements between couples are an unavoidable part of any relationship, however when both parties are willing to talk, listen, entertain different points of view and empathize with each other, solutions can be reached in almost any situation. ❤️ These keys are valuable and thanks for sharing, great entry ❤️
