I was working from home today and I just found some time in between meetings and other work to go out for a small walk. It really helps to clear your mind.
A few minutes from my house is this little castle which is surrounded by a small park.
The castle is used as a conference center now and the park is open for public.
Near the entrance was this tree with a big stretched hole in its bark. I wonder if it will survive the next storm since it seems to be quite hollow.
Apart from the castle there are also some other old objects like this well which, according to the
plaque dates from 1550. Unfortunately there was no water in the well.
A bit further in the park I spotted these beautiful fungi. I had to look them up with my app and they seem to be called "Wood ears". I wonder how those got their name 😂
Another thing that intrigues me in the park is this nest box. The hole in the front is just so big. It must be for a buzzard (which I have seen in this park before) but it could also be the house of an owl. If you look closely you can see there are some twigs inside. But I have never spotted a bird inside. But who knows I will ever see its resident...
Photographing is my passion. Although I like photography in general, nature photography is one of my favourite subjects. I often go out with my camera for a hike to capture the beauty of nature.

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
What a walk, I love the vicinity, the surrounding looks beautiful and peaceful with a rich history.
Wood ear? Hehehe...I think how it looks says it all.
Nice post
Thanks for your feedback. It's a lovely place to go indeed.
Nice place to take some photos. Taking a break and walking with the camera is a nice way to clear the mind.
That's an interesting walk you had between your work. I hope the big tree will stay strong during the storm too. It's a beautiful park for public to relax.
