GAINED POPULARITY FOR BOOK READING AND STORYTELLING

My kids always ask me if I was the best in my class and I tell them I loved to read books that helped me to be smart and I knew a bit of everything.
God bless my parents for giving me the opportunity, to go to a good school where I learnt most of the things I know.

Greetings everyone and welcome to my blog. It's the beginning of the weekend and a public holiday in my country Nigeria in celebration of Easter, Good Friday for Christians. I wish you all a lovely celebration.

It's book smart for me In as much as the city of Lagos Nigeria brings out the street personality in you, you have to be very smart to manage the craze situation and leave the street people to be.

I am grateful to God for giving me the wisdom to read books and tell stories, that was the main reason I joined HIVE to enable me to read more stories and tell my own stories too.

Many years ago in my junior secondary school days, my classmate and those that lived in the same hostel with me knew I read alot of novels and I could tell the stories just the way I read them.

There was a time when some of my classmates couldn't see themselves reading all the literature books for the term, there is this particular story that made them look for another option to read the novel because they have heard it had a lot of yoruba Names, t's an epic story and so it's smart one amongst them told the other girls that if they could get someone who would read and tell the story, that would reduce their workload.

That was how I got involved and my reward was N100(One Hundred Naira). Contributed by all that came to listen. The first literature novel I was asked to read was titled "THE GOD ARE NOT TO BLAME The Author OLA ROTIMI".
It's a sad story of a man named ODEWALA, the fate of a man revealed at his birth by the priest of Ifa, that he would kill his father and marry his mother. This is done In fulfilment of the custom of the land. The only way to avert this taboo was to kill the innocent infant. As fate may have it on the child, whichever way he is taken or runs, he gets closer and closer to fulfilling his ill-fated destiny of killing his father to marry his mother.
Not only did I tell the story, but I also enjoyed reading the story. The number of people who came to listen increased and I was known in school as a storyteller who interprets stories and makes them interesting.
It's book smart for me but we need to know the ways of the street to enable us to manage the attacks that come from the street.
