Today, I am the owner of 62k Hive (...and HP combined). 😎
I had to power down, because I wanted to have liquid Hive.
I expected the price to make big moves - and it did.
At 2$ and at 3$ I sold some and kept the HBD.
Today, I bought back:
Never invested cash
I have invested nothing but time and effort on Hive.
I never bought any crypto.
This is mostly from blogging and lucky trades.
I even gave plenty away last year, invested some in Splinterlands and other hive-engine stuff.
Future strategy

From here on, I could power up the Hive again.
Hive moved almost like expected, but I misjudged the timing - made some profits, but it could have been much more. Of course, I expect it to recover, but that could take a while.
Until then, I could put the Hive to use and support content more.

I will put some more Hive aside to play with tokens on hive-engine.
I am gaining some confidence, after I have made my first losses there.
Storing liquid funds as DEC and cashing in on the SPS rewards seems to make sense.
I also want more Chaos packs.
Conclusion
Trading like that is risky.
I never went all-in and I had a clear plan.
However, I sure did not make 62k HIVE just from blogging; If it wasn't for the trades (and the fork and subsequent lucky trades with those funds) I would have nowhere near as much HIVE.
A reputation of 70 means something between 10k-20k in rewards. (too lazy to check)
I must have tripled somehow (and even wasted some on fun stuff), but I did not keep track precisely.
At this point, I don't know where the price is going, so I will probably just observe.

Interesting! I think you made things right. Keep on going this way. If you consider being on hive as a hobby, the reward ist gorgeous. Most people spend money for their hobby.
You had an amazing strategy and it paid off, I think I need to strategize more because I am just going with the flow as it goes.

I still have some of the $300 HBD. I am well prepared for February. The money will be surely enough for the current winter. You literally saved me from becoming homeless again. So thank you so much again.
Hopefully I will earn enough money with the Hive blockchain to be able to buy an RV (recreational vehicle) or something like that to live in it instead of the rent.
I already have $952 HBD in savings. Nowadays the cheapest RV is around $3000 USD, so I need to earn/receive/save approximately $2048 USD more to reach this goal. I really hope that I can achieve this with the Hive blockchain until the next winter.
By the way, how is your witness (block validating) is doing?

Perhaps you could just keep saving some HBD and use the monthly payouts to support yourself.
Perhaps find a better place to rent.
Once you own something, even just an RV or a boat, it comes with so many hidden costs, it's incredible; you are responisble for everything then and it sucks.
As I know, currently this is the cheapest rent, and I still barely able to afford it because of my under the local minimum wage income. I wish that I could support myself with my Hive blockchain income, but nowadays my Hive blockchain income is too low for that. Even if I would do a monthly cashout, most of the money I would withdraw would immediately go for the transaction fees. It would not be much help for me. But I consider every possible option. We will see. Maybe there will be something good. On YouTube I have seen people living in vans, in rovers and even in simple cars. The latter is more rare, but based on the videos I saw on YouTube, a battery + a solar panel + a charger controller + a small electric heater (and an optional heated blanket) could solve the cold winters.
I wouldn't want to shit in ice and snow. How would you take a shower!?
I have lived in a car + tent for a while.
It is expensive, too and only good fun a while.
Probably the way I do it now. At my workplace. Or in a gym, if I lose my current job. There is no tap water and no shower in my current rent, so I am not able to take a shower in it. There is a faucet on one of the streets in the village. I take water from there, and I store it in bottles. This is how I currently get drinking water. There is a faucet in the garden too, but it is closed in the winter, when there is freezing cold.

Amazing milestone, I am at about 7,500 HIVE/HIVE power and the first milestone in reach is 10k. I think you are aiming at 100k, right?
I assumed that you must have powered up after I got a 100% vote for $0,80 from you and then a couple of hours later a 30% vote for $0,58. 😂
The market is behaving as you thought, my friend, it was a good exchange from #Hive to #HBD at the moment, now the wisest thing is as it says to wait and see where we are going

I truly regret not having this knowledge earlier on and while still on Steemit when everything that comes in was sold away.
I could have made some fortune here as well.
I will try to share oportunities, but for now, I am not sure where it's going.
However, I am gambling a lot. It is not safe and I can not recommend it.
