HOLIDAYS SHOULD BE EXTENDED OOO

It's been an amazing time in this season. Thank God for the success of the previous post and the latest is all so timely and inspiring to me.

As I said the week has been a challenging because of the death recorded in my family. The burial was done properly and yesterday was the traditional wedding day. Now we are looking up to the white wedding which comes up tomorrow by God's grace.

Holidays are always refreshing moments where a worker takes out time to get refreshed. There's one thing about my beautiful country Nigeria that I have noticed over time. Most workers in Nigeria so much like holiday even though much priority is given to children more than everyone else. In few days to come, we shall be celebrating children's day likewise the women's day too. Holiday normally plays a vital role in both the adult and children alike. It's said that all work without play can make one a dull person. It's expedient that one goes on rest once in a while.

As a worker, I wouldn't mind if there can be an extension in the holidays we already have. The holidays during Christmas is too short for me. This is because there are so many activities that one needs to catch up with. I noticed that the government normally gives just few days for the Christmas celebration. This is a season that one would want to share and visit lots of places to show forth love. Four to five days isn't enough. I could remember one of the years, I had lots of places to cover but because of the limitation in the number of days one is restrained. When the holiday is extended, it would enable the workers to fix their schedules. Instead of resuming within December, the remaining days can be converted to holiday so that work resumes in January.

Another holiday that will be great to be extended is the easter holidays. It used to be short unlike before where both children and adults enjoy the best moments that comes with Easter celebration. Easter season is a time where we remember the death and resurrection of Christ. It's a significant event in the body of Christ. There are certain secs that celebrate this moment more than even the Christmas. I had the privilege to interact with one of my friends who told me that in their church they don't believe with Christmas celebration.

The days I like to have holiday is when I have overworked for the week. In my house, once I have stretched myself I don't joke with my afternoon rest most especially when the kids would have gone to school. Sometimes I wished the school lasts till evening so that I could make use of my productive hours effectively. I work more and harder when they're absent than on their presence.
Children enjoy more holiday than the workers. Most at times workers holiday is just days or few weeks whereas children's break could be for a month. Workers need more holiday than the children because of the nature of work they do.
