DECEMBER IS FOR CHRISTMAS

Let me begin this contest by saying happy Christmas to every participants because the long awaited season is here. Immediately I saw the topic a lots of things crept to my heart. Over the years I can boldly say that it has been established the month of December is very special. In fact it will interest you to note that from the very first day the atmosphere changes and even some activities in the environment automatically changes too. It's a clear message that something good always happens around this season. I decided to title this contest as December for Christmas. To me another name for the month of December is Christmas therefore this has metamorphosized to a routine or tradition today.

The there are lots of things associated with the month of December which makes it distinguished amongst other months aside the celebration of Christmas. I will like to share some activities that has changed the month for me. My immediate elder brother is horned in the month of December twenty first. This has by default become a tradition for me because we celebrate his birthday every 21st December. It's memorable to both him and the entire family. He normally sends out gifts, Goodwill messages to other people.

The month of December is the most celebrated one in my city here. From the first day, you will start to hear music, jingles all tilting towards the Christmas. The goods in the market will suddenly change to Christmas like type. Some parents will buy toys, and other things just to celebrate the season. One of the traditional thing I observed over time is the issue of food. Ha... sometimes it pisses me off when I see the rate at which people end food anyhow as if they have never seen food before. Hmmm in my village the rate of running stomach increases due to unnecessary intake of food by people. The season is also characterised by different kinds of travels. I can boldly say that people travel more during Christmas than any other time. Even the transporters have noticed that hence they increase the fare just to extort money

Another traditional thing I observed about the month is the Christmas carols. Wow this is what stands out for me during the season. This is normally organised to commemorate the birth of Jesus which summons virtually all the choral groups within the metropolis to come and make presentation. This is one of the traditions that never ceased during December. I like those songs especially the silent night procession where we carry candles being lighten up then walk around slowly singing the songs reflecting on the birth of Jesus Christ. There is a dress code too a touch of red or white while sometimes people out on caps etc.

Lessons

Though it has become a tradition yet there are fresh lessons which can easily be deduced from all these moments.

• The tradition has really helped to foster unity and peace development. At least people come around to share whatever they have.
• The Christmas activities during December has made some of us go on adventure because we travel a lot and visit also.
• The weather during December is cool around this axis.
