It's so saddening that the 20th anniversary of the Israeli raid on the refugee camp in Jenin, West Bank region, took many lives including a renowned al Jazeera's journalist Shireen Abu Akleh who was on duty during the raids.

Following Abu Akleh’s death, a number of international organisations including the United Nations called for an independent investigation, while people gathered in cities such as London to condemn the killing and to protest against the Israeli occupation of Palestine.Source

It's very saddening to her of the death of this veteran al Jazeera's journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in the West Bank region and peoples all over the world have condemned the action and seeks justice for the veteran journalist.

This killings have seen the rise of protesters all over the world, calling for justice. Peoples from Europe, America, Middle East as well as in North Africa have moved to the streets in their respective cities to protest against the killings that took place on May 11, 2022.

The United Nations in condemning the incidents have taken the following actions:

The statement, a rare case of Security Council unity on an issue related to Israel, also called for “an immediate, thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation” into her death.
The UN’s Human Rights Office also called for a probe into the killing, saying it might constitute a war crime.
A press statement was approved by the 15 council members after language was removed emphasising the importance of media freedom and the need for journalists working in dangerous areas to be protected at the insistence of China and Russia, diplomats said, speaking on condition of anonymity because discussions were private.Source

The council statement reiterated “that journalists should be protected as civilians” and also condemned the injury to Abu Akleh’s colleague.

Respecting International Humanitarian Laws is very important during crisis and the death of the al Jazeera's journalist is an abberation of the tents of International Humanitarian Laws and if culprits aren't put to books, the same will repeat it self in other climes.

Cities where protests have taken place:
Amman, Amsterdam, Auckland, Baghdad, Beirut, Belfast, Bethlehem, Birmingham, Bonn, Chicago, Cologne, Copenhagen, Dublin, Edinburgh, Gaza City, Haifa, Hebron, Idlib, Istanbul, Jenin, Karachi, Khartoum, Krakow, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Manchester, Melbourne, Mogadishu, Nablus, New Delhi, New York, Oslo, Paris, San Francisco, Sydney, Toulouse, Tunis, and Washington, DC.Source

I'll conclude this post by saying that the current situation has brought unity in terms of condemning the incidents and protesters have emerged both from Israeli allies and enemies. This means that crime against humanity is highly condemned by everyone across the world. This is a great move in achieving international unity for once.
