Sin duda, esta increíble caja se ha ganado un lugar en nuestros hogares como ventana al mundo en nuestros salones. Modelos como este viejo televisor de tubo, aunque parezcan piezas de museo, no resultan tan extraños para todos los que, como yo, crecimos sentados en el suelo fascinados por sus pantallas.

Aunque en aquella época no había muchos canales, por ejemplo aquí en España apenas había dos, quiero recordar que la primera televisión pública siempre me pareció suficiente para captar nuestra atención y que fueron aquellas primeras teleseries o películas las que iniciaron mi idilio con la pequeña pantalla.

Programas como "Planeta imaginario" o el mítico "La bola de cristal" disparaban la imaginación de los más pequeños y marcaron definitivamente mi infancia.

Todos estábamos delante del televisor a la misma hora y teleseries como "El coche fantástico" o "Falcon Crest" se convirtieron en auténticos fenómenos.

Sin duda, la televisión ha hecho historia con momentos como la retransmisión de la llegada del hombre a la luna y otros tan míticos como la muerte de personajes como "Chanquete" o el triste final de "David el Gnomo".

La cultura y el mundo de hoy no podrían entenderse de la misma manera sin esta "caja tonta" que lo ha hecho todo por nosotros, desde mantenernos actualizados, informados y entretenidos hasta hacernos llorar o reír.

Son, de hecho, décadas de horas de televisión archivadas que evocan la nostalgia de varias generaciones. Hoy se siguen explotando y poniendo en valor en programas que van más allá de las reposiciones para volver a nuestros televisores, ahora mucho más planos, pero con todo su encanto original.

Without a doubt, this incredible box has earned a place in our homes as a window to the world in our living rooms. Models like this old cathode ray tube TV, although they look like museum pieces, are not so strange to all of us who, like me, grew up sitting on the floor fascinated by their screens.

Although at that time there were not many channels, for example here in Spain there were barely two, I would like to remember that the first public television always seemed enough to capture our attention and that it was those first teleseries or movies that began my idyll with the small screen.

Programs such as "Planeta imaginario" or the mythical "La bola de cristal" fired the imaginations of the little ones and definitely marked my childhood.

We were all in front of the TV set at the same time and series like "Knight Rider" or "Falcon Crest" became true phenomena.

Television has undoubtedly made history with moments such as the broadcasting of the arrival of man on the moon and others as mythical as the death of characters like "Chanquete" or the sad end of "David el Gnomo".

Today's culture and the world could not be understood in the same way without this "idiot box" that has done everything for us, from keeping us updated, informed and entertained to making us cry or laugh.

They are, in fact, decades of archived television hours that evoke the nostalgia of several generations. Today, they are still exploited and given value in programs that go beyond reruns to return to our televisions, now much flatter, but with all their original charm.
