The heart of the labyrinth was the big machine, the sages could not agree on how old it was, how it worked, or whether it had been there before, even of all things, as its faithful devotees claimed.

In this age of darkness the followers of the machine god increased with each cycle. They congregate in prayer and supplication by the unsteady portals that open throughout the Daedalus. Awaiting the arrival of travellers.

Sometimes I wonder if these strangers have the answers. To all those questions about our existence. That of the labyrinth or the very purpose of the big machine, or if we are all really part of its mechanism. If they are that missing piece that would give meaning to our world.

But unfortunately, the ones we manage to capture are usually the least fit or the most incautious. Besides, no one usually stops and has a quiet chat with their food, especially when they are such tasty morsels.

El corazón del laberinto era la gran máquina, los sabios no llegaban a un acuerdo sobre su antigüedad, su funcionamiento o si ya estaba antes, incluso de todo, como aseguraban sus devotos fieles.

En esta época de oscuridad los seguidores del dios máquina aumentaban con cada ciclo. Se congregan rezando y rogando junto a los inestables portales que se abren por todo el dédalo. Esperando la llegada de viajeros.

A veces me pregunto si estos extraños tendrán las respuestas. A todas esas preguntas sobre nuestra existencia. La del laberinto o el objetivo mismo de la gran máquina, o si de verdad todos nosotros formamos parte de su mecanismo. Si son esa pieza que falta y que daría sentido a nuestro mundo.

Pero por desgracia, los que conseguimos capturar suelen ser los menos aptos o los más incautos. Además, nadie suele pararse y conversar tranquilamente con su comida, sobre todo cuando son unos bocados tan apetitosos.
