Newbies Task 4: All about Tribes, Tags and Tokens (three Ts)

Hello Hive

It's another great week of the newbies initiative program and just like every other week that comes with it's own tasks, this week is not an exception.

Having our fourth meeting on discord, we had two speaker for the day which is no other person than @eunice9200 (first speaker) and @starstrings1 (second speaker). the network became a stumbly block to the success of the meeting but then we were able to grasp what mama Eunice taught taking us through the various tags and tokens on hive. Lucky us, starstrings1 was so kind that he has to extend the meeting to another day so we can fully understand how to navigate hive engine placing a buy and sell other.

Along the line, I kind of had some issues from my own end and that's because I failed to import my keys to the keychain browser but thanks to my team leader, I reached out to her and without hesitation she put me through with it and voila it was successful.

Without further delay these are the tasks for the week and my answers.

Question 1: what do you understand by tribe token and give two examples each?

Tribe token are rewards generated by communities to reward authors who make use of their frontend to publish a post. Not just that to whoever make use of the community tag also earn a reward as well so in general tribe token are rewards earned through publishing in a community and making use of their tags.

Two examples of tribe tokens include Leo by the leofinance and neoxiag by the neoxian city.

Question 2: what is the difference between tags and tribe token?

Tags are mainly hashtags (#) that represents topics of a writers work. Basically these tags represents what the writer has talked about in his or her write up.

While

Tribe token is the reward earned from using the community tag.

Question 3: follow through the material for buying and selling with hive-engine, and successfully place a buy and sell order of Leo tokens or any hive- engine token of your choice. Showing all steps taken with a screenshot.

Firstly, the number one necessity to do before a buy and sell order can be achieved, the hive keychain app has to be downloaded from our mobile play store. And below 👇 is a screenshot of how I placed my own buy and sell order.

Step 1
First I have to login to the app which will require my hive ID and private key. Afterward I went ahead to convert one hive to hive swap using keychain itself and all that is needed to do is to locate the swap icon which is the last icon at the base of my screen.

Step 2
I located the browser icon and login to hive-engine, click on market and use the search space typing my preferred coin to buy.

Locate the buy space to place a buy order and it would be nice to also go through the buy order to get for a relatively cheap price. Once done click on buy leo and confirm your transaction.

For selling, I again locate the sell order and fill in my sell order after which I click on the sell icon and confirm my transaction.

And it's good to know that our buy and sell order have been completed.

Saving the best for the last, all thanks to the pioneer of the newbies initiative program for granting the privilege to learn under their umbrella it's indeed a great opportunity. ❤️
