In the depth of the night
thought and worries
laid to rest
intoxicated by sleep
A paralysis state
rendering the body unconscious
lying still
like logs of wood
chopped off by nature
bestowing upon the few
whose mind are longing
for a world beyond their reach

Quite captivating to imagine
A world of flying dragons
Colourful waterfalls
sweeping across earth surface
like floating marbles
Not as thick as you would imagine
enough to drown the soul
of few whose reality has been compromised
left with nothing but rot and leftovers
to scavenge around like mouse
with flat Tommies and rotten smell

A thought of their miserable lives
have them holding onto a fantasy
Hoping it could be true
it matters not
time in the dream world is limited
As pleasing as it might seem
it is a world that feast on humans imagination
self created damnation
A life time of intoxication
A new found obsession.

Take your leave stranger
The lord of dreams screamed angrily
at dreamers
who have overstayed
jogging them back into reality
creating more space
for new wandering souls.

Hello, @emrysjobber. It's nice to read another of your evocative poem. I love how you capture the transient escape from a waking state to the dream land. Your portrayal of the dream land as a realm with "flying dragons" and "colour waterfalls" is simply fantastical!

Oh, how the dreamers wish to keep enjoying the dream realm but the lord of dreams appears to send them away to make room for others. You paint a thought-provoking picture here! Hi, I like the idea of there being a limited capacity in the dream world, so someone has to be pushed out before someone else can get in. Nice idea.
