The idea came originally from the fact that any token/asset based on monetary value in the first place would trigger a long rat tail of regulatory issues within the EU.
And coming from a place of developing engagement and reward models for ecosystems in the social and educational field (I'm planning to share some insights on that in one of my blogs..) based on blockchain technology and token economic systems, I would love to see an artist ecosystem grow based on contribution, engagement and and specifically pursuing the goal to create knowledge and output within applied art in web 3. (The latter is the connection to the Museum of Applied Arts that initiated the DAO project and still has to learn to think decentrally.) I really hope that the MAK DAO will become a DAO where artists meet, discuss, post, designers, creators meet and exchange their knowledge, come together to launch projects with the help of the community. And there's the Hive blockchain to work on and get funding for projects, interact and use all the infrastructure of blogs, wallets etc.
So my hope is that we can build a smart contract that triggers a governance token whenever two NFTs created within the DAO (I call them POAPs upon their distribution principle not because of the protocol hosted on Polygon) meet in a wallet. NFTs are a vehicle but can contain art - artwork can be created in calls within the DAO to form the attractive surface of the NFTs distributed upon engagement and attendance. And to set up this system I need the help of devs and other clever people. I know it can work and I would love to see it come into life!
