I am the supreme POPE of the Church of Y!

You might have heard that 'Temple Combines' have come to dCity. Its a new mechanism, and one which I am suddenly thinking is a new style of gameplay to dCity - something that has never been done before - and I am incredibly excited to use my massive dCity bag to participate in it and possibly learn something - possibly EARN something!

The Y Temple welcomes you!

I am @ecoinstant, Pope of our Y religion, master of the Temple of Y. As in Why haven't you started doing push-ups yet?

Our temple is the most popular temple, with nearly as many Y temples as X and Z temples combined. We are in the middle - we are the most reasonable - Join us.

I will absolutely do what it takes to unlock the very best properties for your Temple, to give you and your city the best chance of succeeding into the future. You can trust in @ecoinstant as the High Priest of Y.

Having access to the SIM Millionaire's discussion area with lead developer @gerber has given me some time to think about the best way to play the Temple game. It is a team sport, and we must all work together to make our Temple's worth more. There will be more effective strategies than others, so in the end, while each of the X, Y and Z temples cost the same to make, they will have very different stats by the end of this game - as well as in the middle.

These bonus accumulation ladders haven't been officially published yet, but we did get a glimpse of some of @gerber's early ideas in the discord. Here's the public information:

image.png

In order for churches to compete - they will need to level up fast, and select the right set of bonuses. By selecting important bonuses too early, they could be setting themselves up for long term failure. Here is the proposed timeline:

image.png

A minimum of 5 days for LVL1 and 25 days for LVL2 - this very early period will decide a lot - then 50 days, 100 days, 200 days and then 400 days - these are all minimums so anything could happen, like not having enough SIM in the faith account, or raising the daily cap by unlocking a certain bonus.

Obviously the more people who donate SIM to the effort the better - the more people who have enough of these temples to make it worth while to add a bit of SIM into the Pot the more we can guarantee that we are at the top of the transformation curve with our churches. And we have to make the best decisions with our choices of bonuses - which I will definitely do as your supreme Pope.

Our temples will be the best, most popular temples!!

The question will be - Why would you want to be in any other temple?

WHY NOT Y??

image.png

In the current round of thinking, the faith account will burn 50% of the SIM, so possibly slightly more than 10k SIM a day will need to be burned to evolve our Temples into the lofty heights of higher bonuses.

How will other temples manage this?

Y Temple has the branding to lead us to the top!

I am looking to attract a solid team of players to work with me to reach the summits and make our temples the best temples they can possibly be - mathematically!

Why not implement these tools into your daily life?

This is possibly the first all out PvP part of dCity, although in a sense, certain governance mechanisms have been a drawn out form of using SIM Power to control aspects of the game - but in this new GAME within a game, there are explicitly three teams. You can hedge out after the fact by building new temples, but as I confirmed after I wrote the last post, you will NOT get the Bag of SIM back after a decombine, so a viable option might be to 'wait and see' until temples get more stats built on them.

Of course at that point, when temples are producing more and are clearly superior meta, they will likely be more expensive to build....

Remember the recipe!

This baby eats 6 tech cards! You might want to stock up on public restrooms, I know I'm starting to run out now that 2nd edition has been closed for awhile.

Let me share with you all a funny anecdote:

When 2nd edition first came out, the public restroom was a joke - I remember when public restroom was the 'rare useless card'. I found this snippet in discord from 2020:

image.png

Now I am down to my last 85 and new public restrooms cost over 6500 sim! its either that or deconstruct one of my public golf courses....

Time, the 4th dimension, is a big part of the game here at dCity. And surely fun is another part - come, have fun with me, over time in dCity!

Is this even economically viable? Well, I guess we will have to see. For now, I will do a little more research. Thanks nonetheless.

Currently there are no benefits, and you lost 10 tax rebate. Not recommended. But soon, Temples will have bonuses, like +20 tax rebate. How about +20 War shares? As the temples level up, it should make more sense to invest the Bag of SIM.
