dCity - needs a new sink?

As many of you may know, I have been on the dCity train for years. I made some good plays throughout the years, I have made guides and tutorials, I have helped people in discord. I am also currently the president.

One of the things that I have enjoyed so much about dCity is that it is continously updated. The rules change, more NFTs are released, new mechanics are added - and ll of this has happened just this year. It keeps going, and it keeps being fun, at least to me.

One of the recent updates was the closing of third edition, with no announcement about 4th edition. This closed a major sink for SIM, and its starting to get noticeable.

Right now, with the burgeoning HIVE price and only minor sinks available, it seems that the LP pool is becoming the major sink, and the price continues is slow drop. How far can it go? I don't know. There is still a lot of HIVE backing the game, as well as dev power and ideas.

Only time will tell.

Not everyone understands dCity. On my last post, some users told me that its too hard for them to understand, and that we need forums to be able to discuss better.

This might be true, but I am not sure what dCity can do about this. Is this something that LEOthreads is working on? My understanding is that its different.

Forums are a place for evergreen questions and answers. Long and short form discussion that can be searched through later by people with the same questions. Does HIVE have a dapp for this? Recommend me something in the comments.

Because this comment is not just about dCity - its a HIVE thing. We can do better - I'm just not sure how yet.

In terms of the price, I am the president, and I continue to target the minimum SIM print possible. I think this is all I can do right now, and I have tremendous support from the voters. I am happy about this. Its not that I don't want to print more, I don't want to tank the price.

But I can think of a scenario where we could print more - when there is another major, unlimited SIM sink, something like 4th edition.

image.png

So for now, I will hold the line. I think this is my mandate - and I am happy to do it. Someone has to make the tough choices, and I think what I am doing is the best for the game. Time will tell.

In terms of development, from what I have heard, the next mechanic to be introduced is an in-game citizen claim (for SIM), based on certain buildings. This is a minor sink but should be welcomed - as many of us are running on low population at this point.

I will also remind you all, to delegate HP to @dcityrewards - this is a major SIM sink currently - and prints young citizens at a very attractive APR, one daily for each 500 HP delegated.

Many people are doing it - check out this option for 'investing' in dCity with very low risk. You get and keep exposure to HIVE while printing dCity NFTs (and earning 3% APR in SIM tokens to boot).

All in all, the economy is circular, and things are still in development, working and advancing, albeit slowly at times. These slow and low times make it all the more fun when we get awash in a wave of fresh development updates, as we did over the summer.

If you want to sell all your cards, there is a market to do so. I personally have purchased some cards recently that I thought were cheap. SIM holdings are paying out somewhere around 25% apr in HIVE. Players and holders will make their choices. The game is afoot!

When games have burning mechanisms, they have a long life and are priced right, so people keep playing them again.

I will say I became a bit unmotivated when 3rd edition ended and then I got hammered with the popularity change. I need 20k people and no efficient clear path to fixing it.

A new sink would be great... Can I buy a population boost with Sim., or a 4th edition that has cards with base population... My whole city was built off popularity and a path forward would get me spending again. !PIMP

This is a great point! I think gerber has something in mind, not sure how quick it will be.

For now, a few people are taking advantage of mining young citizens with HP delegations - no limit.

Hi to all,
I believe that we need new cards and the cities can grow. It must be possible to also by older Cards. For new City starter its impossible to play, because there no cards, or very expensive Cards on Market.
There is still a lot of potential with the Super Citizens. Please carry on, I'm there!
