DUO Status Update - 7/24/24

It's time for an update on how things are going with DUO! We have a couple of positive changes that I think you will all like.

HP Growth
Right now we're sitting at 10,501 HP! That is amazing considering we're not even through with July yet.

Everything has been powered up to this point. We'll be staking all Hive-Engine tokens earned through July to create a baseline for curation. After that, 90% of all tokens, HBD, etc., will be sold off and paid out as dividends. Only 10% will be staked or powered up in order to grow the project. As stated before the week of Aug. 1 we will start live dividends.

Right now, nothing has been delegated to the HOC account while we're still growing the project. We didn't set an exact timeline for this, but we will announce this change once it's effective.

Curation Update

Since we implemented tiered voting to manage the voting mana, we've been monitoring it closely. The mana has been hovering around 97% which means not enough voting weight is being given out to DUO stakers. Our goal is to keep it right around 80% and not let it sit idle. As a result, we've upped the voting weight by 10% on all tiers. Here's a reminder of the tiers.

200 DUO staked - 35% vote
300 DUO staked - 45% vote
400 DUO staked - 55% vote
500 DUO staked - 65% vote
600 DUO staked - 75% vote
700 DUO staked - 85% vote
800 DUO staked - 95% vote
900 DUO staked - 100% vote
1000+ DUO staked - 100% vote

We will continue to watch the voting mana closely and adjust it more if needs be in order to make sure it maintains voting mana around 80%. Our goal is to give all DUO stakers the maximum reward while maintaining positive mana for sustainability.

As set out before in the white paper, the three founders (@bitcoinman, @bulliontools and @thebighigg) will only receive 50% of the maximum vote based on their respective tier.

Dividends Update

Daily dividends will begin on Aug. 1, 2024. As per the white paper 90% of all funds received from curation will go into the dividends, and the remaining ten percent will stay powered up or be powered up. Then every following Saturday those who stake 200 or more DUO will receive dividends according to how much DUO they have staked.

Tipping
Just as a reminder, you must stake 200 DUO to receive dividends and be eligible for post curation.

The tipping requirements are as follows:

500 staked tips 0.1 (1x/day)
1k staked tips 0.2 (1x/day)
5k staked tips 0.3 (1x/day)
10k staked tips 0.5 (2x/day)

Right now, DUO is being sold for 1 Hive each. The first tranche of 20,000 sold out quickly and we're in the middle of the second right now.
The next tranche of 60,000 DUO will be sold for 1.5 Hive each, so get in early while there's still time!
