Wealth by Association
Everyone wants to be rich, and we all want to be able to afford an effortless life for both us and our families in the long run. But above all, we all want to be wealthy. Wealth here is not limited to just having the resources, but being able to create an enabling environment to enjoy the resources in good health and comfort.
There are a lot of rich people all over the world, but not all of them are wealthy. Being wealthy in this sense also connotes having enough resources that you can comfortably say NO to anything that does not conform with your belief and values without feeling any losses. The ability to afford your needs and wants and that of your loved ones without feeling strained.
Personally this is what I strive for, not for fame or unnecessary flamboyance. It is the thought of this that keeps me up late at night and makes me jittery every morning. It is the reason we all are out here busting our butts just to get ahead of the curve.
But there is a concept of acquiring wealth that has to do with the people you're associated with. It is kind of like a chemical reaction that spills over to you from the people that you spend your time with. It is what I call the concept of wealth by association.
There's a popular saying that says that "if you spend time with five rich people, you'll eventually become the sixth rich person, but if you spend time with five broke people, you'll soon become the sixth". There's a lot of credence in that quote that reminds us that we need to be deliberate about the company we keep at all times.
The acquisition of wealth is usually attained first in the mind before it is manifested in the physical. The Mind on its own is like a computer software that constantly needs upgrading and manipulation. It is what you feed your mind that will eventually manifest itself as results in your life.
Wealth is a function of the effective utilization of knowledge and wisdom and the mind is the storage where these knowledge are being stored. So in essence, we need to constantly upgrade, manipulate and utilize these knowledge for us to get the best possible results.
But then knowledge isn't an abstract concept that can just be acquired by mere existence. It is usually passed down/around through human vessels. There's nothing that we as humans know that we were no taught or learned from someone. That is why we cannot stop learning as long as humans still inhabit earth.
If knowledge is usually passed down/around by humans and it is the primary entity that we need in our quest for wealth, then we need to find these vessels and court their attention. It is no lie that the mere association with some set of people can uplift us to heights of success that we hope for. Above all, it can fasttrack that process.
It now behoves on us to find these individuals who share the same values as us, possess the requisite knowledge base that we need and sometimes have the necessary experience, and make sure that we get glued to them.
Sharing the same space as these people will open our eyes to the pitfalls that we would've fallen prey of if we were doing it on our own and make sure that we know the right ways to avoid them. It is a known fact that nobody exists in a bubble and the smartest set of people don't just learn from people's mistakes, but also from their successes.
So it is our association with these people that will open our minds to the different perspectives that exist on any matter, feed us the requisite knowledge and answer niggling questions that might have been boggling our minds over time. All this while while proffering plausible solutions to future problems.
It is from this association that we can also streamline our goals and objectives, be motivated to pursue them religiously and anytime we seem to falter or fall behind, drag us back on the right path while making the consequences lighter to handle.
It is worthy to note though that no one wants to be friends with someone who has nothing of value to offer. You can't just be a nuisance and expect serious minded people who have sacrificed a lot to get to where they are to just harbor you. In truth, they'll leave you behind to your foolery.

So as we all are still striving on this path to financial freedom and total wealth, it is worthy to note that the load is easier when it is shared with others, especially those who have a larger knowledge base than us. A primary example is the crypto space where community engagement is usually the rudder that drives any project in the sphere. So find your own valuable community and drive yourself to wealth.
