PhotoFeed Contest - Cityscape Photography Round 19
Hello PhotoFeed friends,
my entry for the PhotoFeed Contest - Cityscape Photography Round 19 entitled "Endless Urban Area" shows the enormous dimensions of the city of Tokyo.
The city ranks 22nd among the largest cities (as of 2020) and, together with Yokohama, is the largest metropolitan area in the world.
The photos (of which the first picture is my competition entry) were taken during a trip to Tokyo, during which I of course also visited the 634 meter high Skytree.
From the observation decks and the long glass walkway there are breathtaking views in all directions, and whichever way you look, the city stretches to the horizon. And that despite the enormous height. The highest accessible point for visitors is at an impressive 451.2 meters.
Unfortunately, the weather was initially cloudy and rainy. Nevertheless, or maybe even because of the cloud atmosphere, I was able to take impressive pictures.

mein Beitrag zum PhotoFeed Contest - Cityscape Photography Round 19 mit dem Titel "Endloses Stadtgebiet" zeigt die ungeheuren Ausmaße der Stadt Tokyo. Die Großstadt belegt unter den größten Städten Platz 22 (Stand 2020) und gilt im Verbund mit Yokohama als größte Metropolregion der Welt. Entstanden sind die Fotos (von denen das erste Bild mein Wettbewerbsbeitrag ist) während einer Tokyoreise, bei der ich natürlich auch den 634 Meter hohen Skytree einen Besuch abgestattet habe. Von den Aussichtsplattformen und dem langen Glasgang hat man einen atemberaubenden Ausblick in alle Richtugnen und egal in welche Richtung man blickt, die Stadt reicht bis an den Horizont. Und das trotz der enormen Höhe. Der höchste zugägliche Punkt für Besucher liegt in stolzen 451,2 Meter Höhe. Das Wetter war leider anfangs stark bewölkt und regnerisch. Trotzdem oder vielleicht sogar gerade wegen der Wolkenstimmung konnte ich beeindruckende Bilder machen.

Eine Japanreise ist absolut empfehlenswert. Ich war im Rahmen einer Staatsoperntournee in Japan, hatte Aufführungen in Tokyo und Yokohama und zum Glück auch jede Menge Zeit für zahlreiche Unternehmungen während meines 10-tägigen Aufenthalts.
