NEWBIES INITIATIVE TEAM LEADER TASK 5 REPORT [TEAM 2]

Hey guys, it’s another week of the newbies initiative and as usual, this is my report as team leader of team 2 detailing the general performance of the team in last week’s task – task 5. The discord meeting on the weekend before the task was on the theme ‘ Tribal Tokens, Tipping & Mining Tokens, & Hive Engine’ and the presentation was nicely delivered by @ksam.

In the discord discussion, newbies learnt about tribal tokens, how to use them, and how people abuse them. They also learnt about the basics of Hive engine. The task for the week covered a theoretical as well as practical aspect that involves newbies swapping HIVE to SWAP.HIVE and back. Without further adieu, let’s get into the main report.

General Team Performance

It's another week to encourage team 2 to try to at least engage and visit each other’s posts. If even you can’t engage much, at least try to reply the comments on your posts. I’ve seen some team members drop their posts and not reply any comments left on the posts. That deters people from engaging on your next post if their previous attempt to connect with you was ignored.

Next thing on the list is attendance/participation. I’m not sure whether it was because of the practical aspect of the task that accounted for the poor participation in this task or it was because of the fact that we’re nearing the end of the initiative, but the participation wasn’t encouraging. Maybe some newbies thought the practical aspect would be difficult and decided not to attempt the task at all, or lacked the funds to perform the transactions. Only 4 members submitted their task this week and their tasks and usernames are presented in the table below.

Some Observations and comments

This is not exactly limited to this task, but as I already mentioned, it’s important to at least reply comments left on your posts(tasks). This is how you actually start a conversation with people and build relationships or friendships with them long term.

I was happy to see that there was diversity in the platforms you guys used for your swaps. I hope you noticed the transaction fee and liquidity differences between the various Hive-based Exchanges. That’ll help you better decide which to use for your swaps in the future.

I don’t think I’ve told you guys this often, but I’m really proud of you guys for making it this far and for putting it the effort to keep producing quality tasks and content over all. We’re almost at the finish line, so don’t relent as there’ll be goodies for the persevering and excellent participants.

My thanks go to @vickoly the instructor for team 2 for all the reminders and tips he’s giving me on how to handle the team, and to @nkemakonam89 also for the guidance and reminders. @starstrings01 birthed this initiative and many are grateful and benefitting from it. I also commend my colleague team leaders and boss men @moremoney28 and @justfavour for the awesome work they’re doing. And to theycallmedan, lazypanda and aliento for the support they give this initiative.

Wow just four members participated in the last task, that's serious, anyways each did a good job and I hope the teachings and practical as broaden their knowledge on the subject matter.

Kudos to you to Hamza.

Always welcome, man. Happy to see that you’re learning here. I learnt a lot in this initiative myself.
