Sunday Reflections: share the knowledge!

To my best friends in the #FreeCompliments community, my best regards!

I've been talking to some friends here at Hive about their projects and what their interests are in both the long and short term.

I realized that we share some things, and differ on others. The interesting part is that we take the time to share our experiences here in the ecosystem and with that everyone can learn a little more.

At this moment, we have the option of sharing information, in this world where everything potentially has commercial value, we can say that it is not common to deliver the gold (an expression that refers to delivering valuable information without obtaining a return).

But how can we hope to live in society without sharing?

It was through the knowledge accumulated throughout history that each new discovery boosted the development of society! When knowledge resides in just one individual, any advancement he makes is limited to him, and ends up being lost at the end of his life.

Have you ever thought about needing to reinvent the wheel every generation?

When I remembered this phrase by Sir Isaac Newton, I went looking for the original and ended up coming across the original concept that comes from Latin:

nanos gigantum humeris insidentes

In Latin, it comes from the expression "standing on the shoulders of giants" and expresses the meaning of "discovering the truth based on previous discoveries", which is the foundation that places humanity as the main actor on the planet.

For this to be perpetuated, we need to encourage all forms of passing on knowledge, culture and traditions. Ensuring that the next generation has access to everything that humanity has cumulatively produced is essential for the survival of the species!

And this appeal that I make also applies to Formal Education, which is the role of the school. Even those who show no interest need a minimum of instruction.

What can we do to help and elevate society's knowledge to new levels?

This is the big question, after all we often believe that we are failing in educating our children. When the pandemic came, we were unprepared to deal with remote education, and this will reflect on an entire generation that spent two years with precarious education.

Our role is to encourage and do our part by sharing what little we know. In general, each small piece of knowledge makes up a large picture of culture and citizenship, technology and humanism, which makes us effectively human!

Aos meus melhores amigos da comunidade #FreeCompliments, meu melhores cumprimentos!

Estive conversando com alguns amigos aqui na Hive, sobre os projetos deles e quais seus interesses tano no longo como no curto prazo.

Percebi que compartilhamos algumas coisas, e divergimos em outras. A parte interessante é que tiramos um tempo para compartilhar nossas experiências aqui no ecossistema e com isso todos podem aprender um pouco mais.

Nesse momento, temos como opção compartilhar a informação, nesse mundo onde tudo potencialmente tem valor comercial, podemos dizer que não é comum entregar o ouro (expressão que refere a entregar informações valiosas sem obter retorno).

Mas como podemos pretender viver em sociedade sem compartilhar?

Foi através do conhecimento acumulado ao longo da história que cada nova descoberta impulsionou o desenvolvimento da sociedade! Quando o conhecimento está em apenas um indivíduo, qualquer avanço que ele faça fica limitado a ele, e acaba por ser perdido ao final de sua vida.

Já pensou em precisar inventar a roda a cada geração?

Quando lembrei dessa frase de Sir Isaac Newton, fui procurar a original e acabei esbarrando no conceito original que vem do latim:

Em latim, vem da expressão "estarem sobre ombros de gigantes" e expressa o significado de "descobrir a verdade a partir das descobertas anteriores" que é fundamento que coloca a humanidade como ator principal no planeta.

Para que isso se perpetue precisamos incentivar todas as formas de repasse de conhecimento, de cultura, de tradições. Garantir que a próxima geração possua acesso a tudo que a humanidade já produziu cumulativamente é essencial para a sobrevivência da espécie!

E esse apelo que eu faço também se aplica à Educação Formal, que é papel da escola. Mesmo aqueles que não demonstram interesse precisam de um mínimo de instrução.

O que podemos fazer para ajudar e elevar o conhecimento da sociedade a novos patamares?

Essa é a grande pergunta, afinal muitas vezes acreditamos que estamos fracassando na educação de nossas crianças. Quando a pandemia veio, estamos despreparados para lidar com educação remota, e isso vai refletir em toda uma geração que passou dois anos com um ensino precário.

Nosso papel é incentivar e fazer nossa parte compartilhando o pouco que sabemos. Na soma geral, cada pequeno pedaço do saber compõe um grande quadro de cultura e cidadania, tecnologia e humanismo, que nos torna efetivamente humanos!
