Another hike at La Fila

La Fila, Caracas, 20 Feb 2024

Hello, Hivers and Wednesday walkers!

This year I haven't written about my hikes in the mountains. Just as my online time has been affected these first months of the year by the hustle and bustle of life, the same has happened with my hikes, which have been scarce. But this week, I've been determined to change that. And yesterday, the mountain gave me a beautiful afternoon, with beautiful views and surrounded by nature.

When I arrived at the entrance of the reserve, it was time for the Guacharacas, always noisy. I was able to photograph this one in one of the trees at the entrance road.

LaFila20feb24_1.jpg

At the entrance, there is a blooming Araguaney, which has already lost many flowers and has its beautiful yellow carpet.

LaFila20feb24_2.jpg

I love how at this time of the year the Araguaney, which by the way is the national tree of Venezuela, adorns the city.

LaFila20feb24_3.jpg

In these months, the paths of the park are very dry and covered with dry leaves that sometimes are more slippery than the wet soil of the rainy season.

LaFila20feb24_4.jpg

But even though everything is very dry, nature always finds a way and makes its way like this plant growing around a dry trunk.

LaFila20feb24_5.jpg

At this time of the year, you can see these plants on some of the trails. I do not know what they are called. But I love the color of their flowers.

LaFila20feb24_7.jpg

The afternoon was beautiful. The sky was so clear that you could see the moon at that hour. Can you see it in the pic?

LaFila20feb24_8.jpg

On the trails closer to the summit, everything is very dry and I am sure that in a few days, the few leaves that are left on the bushes will disappear unless it rains.

LaFila20feb24_9.jpg

But from the main viewpoint, the view is always majestic. Like a painting. I stayed a long time contemplating it.

LaFila20feb24_10.jpg

I entertained myself by talking with cyclists and walkers who came and stopped like me to admire the spectacle that nature gives us at this point.

LaFila20feb24_11.jpg

It was getting late and although I could have stayed there much longer, I had to get down before it got dark.

LaFila20feb24_12.jpg

So I went into the trails again.

LaFila20feb24_13.jpg

And I made it down while it was still daylight. In time to took another picture of the Araguaney, which turned out better than I thought with the guy walking his dog.

LaFila20feb24_14.jpg

I returned home with renewed energy and determined that no matter how busy I am, these walks should be a priority in my day.

This is my post for this week's #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay.

Thank you for reading!

Good afternoon dear friend @coquicoin
What a pity that you haven't been able to go for a walk in recent months, it's great that you decided to change that, and started with a walk to the mountain.
I loved the reception of the reserve with that peculiar bird, and the beautiful flowers of the great national tree of your country
How beautiful those trails covered in leaves, and the clear sky, how good that you were able to see the moon at that time of the afternoon

What a beautiful view of the city you have enjoyed. Beautiful photographs, thank you very much for showing us.

Have a happy Wednesday day

These months I have been very busy, and I have left a little bit abandoned these hikes to the mountains. It was quicker to go to the park to exercise, but the mountain always fills me with good energy and is worth the effort.
A big hug and happy evening:)

We should have walks like this every day. The Araguaney tree always fascinates me when I see it in your posts.😊 And I am impressed by the stunning views of the hills around among the clouds. And you are beautiful as always! Lots of hugs!🤗

I love the araguaney, I miss seeing them because around here in Vigo you see a lot of magnolias which are also very beautiful, but the araguaney reminds me of my homeland!
I see you had a lovely walk!
Greetings and keep enjoying nature! 👋🏼

Oh, the capital... You see, I'm from San Diego... A city a couple hours from Caracas, and let me just say to you that your pics are so relaxing and you're trying to show another aspect from a very moving capital like Caracas. Beautifully work, my friend.

No hay de qué.

I'm not sure about the beauty of Caracas.. I'm not saying it is ugly and awful but for me, a gorgeous city has to be totally different. I do find it magnificent, thou...

What a lovely walk @coquicoin, and what a spectacular view of the mountains in the background!
That bird looks very big, you were very fortunate to get such a close-up shot of it.
We need to make time to get out in nature, especially if there's a place close by, it always is such a tonic!
Enjoy your weekend dear Eli <3

Abrazos 😘
