A Tejo and Craft Beer's night

A few weeks ago, on a Saturday night, there was a small fair in Parque de la 93. The event was called “Hecho en Bogotá”. My husband and I decided to go and take look

At these types of events in the park, there is usually live music. So there were several local bands playing. But as soon as we arrived, it started to rain, which is very common in this city. That discouraged us a little. We thought about going to a nearby café, and so we walked there, but it was closed.

So, despite the drizzle, we went back to the fair, to check on the stands dedicated to selling craft beers.

The first stand we visited was Tropical Brewing Co. They offered us a taste of a Blonde Ale with hints of watermelon. To be honest, Watermelon Blonde Ale isn't really my thing, haha. It did taste like watermelon, but I didn't like the flavor.

We preferred a Hazy IPA called Arazá HAZY IPA with hints of Arazá.

I liked it, it was easy to drink. This beer was slightly cloudy and not very bitter. But even though it wasn't bad, I probably wouldn't go back for it.

Since we wanted to try something different after this first beer, we moved on to another stand for a brand called Tumbao.

They had several types of draft beer. They gave us samples to try, and I chose to order a Red IPA with a hint of red berries.

I really liked it, and it was my favorite of the ones we tried that day. A reddish beer with medium bitterness.

My husband bought a Triple Belgian-style beer with a hint of ginger.

A lager with a hint of ginger that had an interesting and unique flavor. It was fine to try, but to be honest, I don't think I would go back for it.

From there we moved on to a stand called La Embajada, which had only one beer on tap. A lager, nothing special. But the interesting thing here is that you could play Tejo while enjoying your beer.

It was a new experience for me, since I had never played Tejo before. It is a typical game in Colombia and consists of throwing a metal disc at a clay board that has discs with gunpowder on them. The idea is to hit them and make them explode so that sparks are generated.

But it's not only difficult to hit the target, it's also difficult to retrieve the disc buried in the clay to throw again, haha.

I found it fun and would definitely play it again.
