The legal age, 18, just signifies that a person has attained thelevel of independence and can/will be held responsible for their actions. It's more like. It's a telling that a person owns himself and has gotten to the point where, it is assumed that they understand the basic rules and intricacies of life.

It's far from being related to maturity. Maturity can be a factor of different occurrences but not one that comes pre-installed with attaining a certain number.

I agree absolutely. Age 18 is to tell someone that you've come of age and it's time to take responsibility for your actions.

Truly, maturity is not attached with a particular age.
