Which Domain Should Replace ProofOfBrainium.io, an NFT and VYB Burn

I minted a new NFT for this post. The NFT shows a brain burning with ideas. I thought that this would be a great NFT for burning POB and related tokens. I created the images with NightCafe Studio.

I am selling 4 editions for 280 MEME (about two pennies). I have half dozen images in my gallery. I am simply charging the creation cost.

After I publish this post, I will burn a pile of VYB. It looks like I have 218 VYB with a reported value of 0.217 HIVE or $0.106 USD.

I would burn more. As you see, I use the HBD and HIVE from my posts to buy and burn coins.

I don't get very many upvotes; so the burns are small.

POB Lost Its Domain

The big news in the HIVE-O-Sphere is that the #POB tribe lost its primary domain proofofbrain.io.

Well. It is not completely lost. The domain currently has a standard warning that the domain has expired.

If someone from #HIVE-Engine contacted the web host, POB could keep the domain and we could keep the domain.

Sadly, there seems to be no interest in protecting any of the HIVE Tribes.

Web Registrars Do Not Like Domain Squatters

Domain Registrars and Web Hosts love money. They are usually happy do whatever it takes to keep web sites alive.

Most domain registrars do not like the vultures that buy up expired domains. So, when you see a domain expire, the registrars usually give ample opportunity to save the domain name.

How to Replace Proofofbrain.io?

Since no-one at HIVE Engine will do what it takes to save the domain, there is an open discussion of new domains for the tribe. Most people argue for the domain name ProofOfBrain.blog.

A group of developers dedicated to reviving the POB brand could do wonders for Hive-Engine.

I Like VYBrainium

I am also fond of VYBrainium.com. The #VYB tribe is a fork of POB that emerged after a dispute about the distribution of rewards. A group of insiders were hogging the bulk of the POB pool. The insiders were engaged in self-voting and what not.

For awhile the VYB crowd was quite passionate about the project.

If any of the passion remains; then I think that it continues to be a project worth pursuing.

Let's Look at the Tokens

The HIVE-Engine Tokens page says that POB is trading at $0.00282. It has a circulating supply of 7,792,990 and a market cap of $21,976. 1.9 million of the 7.7 million supply is in administration accounts. The real marcap is smaller.

The marcap might be high considering that they just lost their domain. I fear that it has a way to fall.

VYB has a supply of 7,302,344 coins. It is trading at $0.0004 and a reported marcap of $2,920. If the admins manage to keep the domain alive, it probably won't fall much further.

An interesting aspect of VYB is that it renders rewards as 100% staked. This means that accounts that don't regular monitor their HIVE-Engine accounts are still building coins.

The result of this design is that VYB is one of the best distributed coins in the HIVE-O-Sphere.

Unfortunately, since there aren't many buyers of the coin, VYB is becoming unbalanced. It is still worth a look

The Future of HIVE-Engine

The future of HIVE Engine depends on users actively trading the coins that they earn. Sadly, only a few people have realized this.

It is worth looking at the VYB richlist.

Yes, it is be coming top heavy because very few users on HIVE actively trade their coins. However, it has a decent distribution. It appears that the admins of Vybrainium.com have their act together better than VYB. But who knows.

If ever the HIVE community starts growing again, VYB is one of the coins to watch.

Sadly, I fear that all the tribal tokens are questionable investments and that most wall fall to 0.00000001 HIVE. It is possible that HIVE-Engine will follow the example of STEEM-Engine and go dark.

I will use the proceeds of this post to buy and burn coins. HE will only survive if HIVE users actively trade tokens on it. I will use the HIVE and HBD earned on this post to trade coins. I also created an NFT which I am selling at cost.

The problem with these hive-engine tribe tokens is that they are tokens that are earned just by using the tag, you don't need to post in the community or even participate in the community... That means, all token inflation goes to people who are using the tag to farm and sell. So, it's natural for it to go to zero.

There's a huge number of problems with the Tribes.

Many of the tribes were launched as get rich quick schemes. They had buggy cookie cutter code that was difficult to support or extend.

They had airdrops that gave huge amounts of coin to HIVE whales (as if the whales needed more money).

The whales thwarted efforts by people to have focus. This led to tag spam. People would use every coin tag in every post.

I wrote the post above. I make sure that the key words are relevant to the post. The post is about #hive-engine coins. I wrote the post by hand. It mentions #VYB and #POB. I created a #MEME NFT for the post.

I really did not take much interest in the tribe coins until after their collapse. They still have value for the few people who truly care about the platform

I don't know if you've seen this post @coininstant/is-the-end-near-for-proofofbrainio, take a look, it says who is the owner of the proofofbrainio tribe.

By the way, the domain https://www.proofofbrain.blog already exists and belongs to @leprechaun

@richardcrill has been buying up POB and VYB like crazy.

If he was the owner, he would have renewed the domain.

Part of the reason for my post was to repeat that it still might be possible for someone with HIVE-Engine to renew the domain. It would be good to keep it.

It would be possible to URL forward all posts proofofbrain.blog.

To be honest registrars really don't care about squatters. That's more the jurisdiction of ICANN and UDRP. Some people have a .com so they'll register their second-level domain for .org, .net, et al. to protect the mark they are using. Sometimes people like authors or movie studios register a domain for a project that won't be publicly announced for several years. Registrars don't have the time or resources to sort out legitimate from squatters.

Instead of Hive-Engine paying for the domains of defunct front-ends I'd rather them save up around a quarter million dollars and apply for .hive gTLD. Imagine having the domain www.buynburn.hive.

Plus the premium .hive domains like travel.hive, finance.hive, and fashion.hive.
