Take a breath

image.png

It's pretty safe to say it has been a kind of crazy week so far. I'm not sure many of us might have called the fact that BTC would be hovering around the $53,000 mark. Okay, there might be one or two people who claim they knew, but let's be honest, they are just guessing. Plain and simple.

There's a lot of excitement out there right now. People who had given up hope are starting to believe again. Those of us who never lost faith are readily saying "I told you so", and from this point forward, the sky's the limit as to where we might be heading.

I took this photo the other day of a mini daffodil that @mrsbozz got from her sister for a couple of reasons.

First, it proves we can have a plan in our house more than 24 hours and not kill it. Second, daffodils are usually associated with Spring (at least where I live). They are one of the first flowers that pop up once the snow starts fading away. As sure as Spring is around the corner, it's a good reminder that the bear and crypto winter is behind us.

Finally, when you think of flowers you often think of smelling them. Having been through this once before, I can tell you this is an awesome time. Stop, take a breath, breathe deeply, and don't let your head or your heart run away with you. To steal from the movie Bambi, don't get twitterpated.

It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance. This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week. I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the community.

HIVESQL

It's been interesting these past couple of weeks to realize just how reliant a lot of the services we use on a daily basis are dependent on HIVESQL. I've personally used the tool a couple of times and I have to admit, it is pretty great. The ease with which it allows you to parse data from the blockchain is awesome.

Having not used SQL since I was in university, it did take me a bit to get set up, but once that was done, I felt like I had the world at my fingertips. This hack/ransomware attack on @arcange should be a stark reminder of just how fragile a lot of this stuff is. There could always be a single point of failure and preparing for that is key.

Fingers crossed they are able to get things back up and running soon.

I personally have a handful of daily routines that I have had to adjust due to the outage.

Wuffi

I'm not usually one to shill memecoins. Personally, I would rather invest in tokens that have an actual use case. That being said, I have been known to throw $25 to $50 here and there at the likes of SHIBA, SUSUME, PEPE, and BRISE. Of course, none of them have really panned out for me yet.

That's why when Wuffi came on my radar, I first dismissed it. Then, as I got reading about it, I started to get more interested.

The team behind Wuffi makes no effort to hide that it is a memecoin. They have embraced the fact that those coins seem to be what are hot these days and they are running with the concept. What I think gives Wuffi a bit more potential than other memecoins is twofold.

First, although it is based on the WAX blockchain, they are also implying there will be integrations to Solana. Yes, that Solana. The one that has been blowing up lately. The same Solana that saw the memecoin BONK jump into the top 100 in a matter of seconds and made a lot of people on the Solana blockchain very rich. If Wuffi can leverage that with a proper snapshot, airdrop, and rollout, we could see some significant wealth generated.

Second, it looks like there are plans at least on some level for many existing projects to use Wuffi in some shape or form. Whether that actually happens or not is anybody's guess, but if even one big project embraces it, it could be huge.

If you are a WAX holder, you might want to keep an eye on this one. If you are not, finding out what you need to do before the next snapshot happens in 7 days might be a good idea.

Silver Envy

I've gotta be honest, when I was unexpectedly invited to join the Silver/Gold Stackers community a while ago, I never would have anticipated the urges it would give me. Seeing all of the awesome pieces you folks are sharing has me wishing I was in a place to pick up more silver myself. In the past, it has simply been something I bought around the holiday time because I knew I would be gifting some to my nephew.

I am starting to realize that I need to set up a regular plan of investing in silver. Even if I just set $20 aside each month and buy a couple pieces every two or three months. Of course, I could run into shipping costs that way, but maybe that is just the price I have to pay. Either that or I cut work early so I can make it to the bullion store before they close!

Speaking of the bullion store. My local shop KZoo Bullion just announced an "auto invest" program where you can set up recurring purchases based on your calendar and your available funds.

I haven't looked into it too much yet, but it does sound interesting. Along with a couple hand picked pieces available for the program, they also have assorted secondary market pieces which add an element of surprise to your purchase. They also have some pretty cool hand poured pieces.

That's all I've got for this week. I hope you have a great weekend and remember to stop and take a breath!

My mom kills anything living no matter what….🤣
Silver is not a race it’s a marathon. Just buy at a steady pace you can afford. It will all pan out in the end.

Saw Wuffi a while back too and had the same interest. Didn't jump, but still might.

My luck it won't amount to anything, but I hold a pretty decent stack of WAX, so it piqued my interest.

My Stacking strategy; a loose Dollar cost averaging coupled with buying more on price dips to averaged down the total cost. Only to see the savings advantage get thrown out the porthole for a lovely pirate silver piece. ☠️

I do have some wriggle room in the monthly budget. Just don't cave in too often.

I don't own any wax. I should look into getting some just so I can get exposure on that blockchain.

I'm a pretty big fan of it. Probably my biggest holding next to Hive. It's easy to set up a cloud wallet too. Just make sure you enable 2FA.

Wow..!!! Beautifull. It reminds me about my 9th class when there is a poem named as daffodils.
