Polycub , airdrop and soon is now

Just a few hours ago, Polycub went live and the airdrops as well. It is a monumental moment for members of the Leo community as a whole.

The price action of Polycub has been nothing short of incredible. At the time of writing, Polycub is already trading at $5.1 and every time I refresh, it feels like it will go higher.

I am now faced with a problem that I actually envisaged. I have to add that I'm extremely pleased that I have this kind of problem.

Buying Matic

The first thing you have to do is buy Matic. Matic is to polygon, what BNB is to Binance smart chain. So, in essence, you need it to pay for gas fees.

If you've not connected your metamask to Polygon, here's a simple tutorial that explains how you can connect it. After connecting it, the only thing left is buying Matic.

My initial plan was to simply buy it onchain and then bridge it to Polygon from BSC but that doesn't seem feasible for me. I mean, it is probably possible but I'm just not going to do it because I don't know any trusted bridge and I don't want to grant random dapps permission to my wallet.

I actually use a ledger these days but I'm extremely cautious because it's a dog eat dog world out there, and only God knows the kind of craziness ia lurking.

So, to be on the safe side, I transferred 30 BUSD to Binance exchange, bought some Matic and then sent it to my Polygon address. I know this is pretty obvious but let me just add that your Polygon address is exactly the same as your BSC address.

Claiming airdrop

After you've sent Matic to your Polygon address, which, as I mentioned earlier, is the same as your BSC address, the next step is to claim your Polycub tokens.

To claim, you visit https://cubdefi.com/airdrop and click on claim. When you claim, you will be automatically routed to Polycub on Polygon, and your metamask will instantly indicate that you just switched network.

Go to your metamask and confirm the switch. This will then automatically grant your metamask access to the Polygon side of your wallet.

You will also have some Matic in that wallet, so that will be used to pay the gas fee. An important point to note about Polygon is that while gas fees are cheap, there tends to be congestion.

@revisesociology shared this useful tip that you should use to ensure that your transactions on Polygon go faster. If you don't follow the step, you could end up waiting hours for simple transactions to go through.

Staking more Cubs

At the current price of Cub, your airdrop value is pretty much coming in at a 1:1 USD value ratio. That's pretty incredible, if you ask me, because you're basically doubling your money in 60 days.

Since I'm earning cub from farms, I'll be staking every two days and adding a couple more dollars worth of Polycub to my collection in the process.

Assuming the Leobridge gets active at some point during the airdrop, I'll use it to execute some ideas I have been playing with to move value between Polycub and Cubfinance.

Bug report

Right now, I'm facing an issue where I can see my airdrop on Cubfinance but it refuses to claim on the Polygon side of things. On the discord group, there have been a number of people also experiencing this same issue.

Immediately there's an update to the problem, I'll update this publication. However, until then, we wait for a resolution of the problem. Due to this issue, many of us have not been able to claim our Polycub and start getting busy with it.

Update

Bug has been fixed and I claimed my Polycub airdrop a moment ago. After claiming it, I staked it in the Xpolycub contract with over 7000% APY.

I'll be exploring the farms, particularly the Pleo related farms in the coming weeks. I believe this will be a nice way to get more Polycub and throw into the Xpolycub contract in the long t

Such a cool project, really glad to see it having a good start. Hopefully it keeps being successful in the long run, together with the whole LEO ecosystem.

I still can not claim my pCUB at the moment.
I saw it once but now it's turned to grey and I can not click on it or see pCUB amount any more.
Hope it will be fixed soon.

This is quite a significant opportunity cost. I wish I didn't sleep on the launch. I was awake when the original countdown stopped. Then I finally slept. Now I cannot get my hands on the Airdrop and the APR keeps dropping.

This should be a good lesson to keep in mind for the future expansions of CUB into other EVM chains.

The Airdrop is working right now. You can invest in xPOLYCUB now (which is the best place to be IMHO).
Best of Luck!
