What do common members like us bring to Hive communities?

avatar

You might wonder what common members like us bring to Hive communities and I must say that we contribute quite a bit to the growth and wealth of these organizations. Many are talking about what communities are bringing to their members and in some cases, there is an upper class holding big incentives, but I think that there is more power coming from within the user base. Yeah, you might get a big upvote from the community itself, but in some other cases the upvotes gathered from its members might surpass that in value and engagement. And this is why it is important to find our place in the Hive ecosystem and pick those communities where we can share the passion and interest of others.

Thinking of what common members bring to the Hive communities that they have joined, here are some examples from my own experience.

  • Time, passion and dedication to contribute and engage on Hive communities
  • Content creation feeding the community reads
  • Curation with both community tokens (like LEO) and also main tokens (Hive Power)
  • Source of ideas for new developments
  • Fresh information to get on the ground floor on some projects and be early adopters

This shows that the power of the group formed from individual contribution is bigger than the community itself. And that translates into a decentralized organization rather than one where all the power is held to the top. This encourages organic growth and makes new users join through the beliefs and proofs that they can achieve in such structures.

What is your intake on things brought to Hive communities?

I wonder what you think are some of the things you are bringing and participating actively to Hive communities. Share them as comments as I am sure that there are other ways in which we are contributing for growing and flourishing the established ecosystems from this great blockchain.

Communities are great place to find your voice when starting out on Hive and such is the case for Leo,ctp, sports and other niches out here. An average user actively engaging in the community is what makes it a growing community. The common user are like the little drops that makes an ocean

You are right on this, communities help us focus our passions and interests while we help them grow and expand.

Members makes up community without author who writes meaningful post, nothing to curate , believe me hive is a vault of knowledge which we can keep gaining new knowledge everyday,I am a trader who love writing anytime my trading experience, I write once in a while which I believe people might gain on or two knowledge,I love reading and engaging anyway because I believe I gain more when I read than share

Well, I am also a common member here on Hive and I believe I bring some values here too which are my time, focus, commitment and belief in the blockchain. I make sure to bring quality content here and also to help support members and some curation trails here. This is my contribution to your question at the end of your post.

Content creation feeding the community reads

I like the way you said that without content creation there will be no feed.
What I have tried to ensure when creating content is to have elements of value that anyone reading from the community might find useful.

I think that community members are like the flesh of an organism while the community owner(s)/moderator(s) are like the bone or structure of an organism.

It's members through their innovation or creativity can bring fresh perspectives that add value to the community at large. Also offering support and feedback to fellow members. And unified in pursuing a common objective.

This is what I've been thinking about recently. Every active user have contribute to the Hive. Either through posting, upvoting, reblogging, commenting and even promoting of Hive to new users.
My regards to each and everyone

I can't wait until Hive's communities are big enough to flex their political muscles on Hive.

Right now, the big dogs in terms of HP are still the early STEEM/HIVE investors.

But this evolution of whale accounts on Hive is going to change over time as communities take over.

Wish I could just press fast forward and get to this point already haha.

Well, it's synergy, really... as far as I can tell.

Communities matter because they actually represent how people use the web. We follow our interests. Nobody's online because they want "to be online." They are online to do things; to pursue interests," whatever those interests may be.

Communities/Layer 2 is where that is possible. Hive is like "the Internet," while communities are what we DO on the Internet.

As "common members" we are what guides where communities are formed... and also where they vanish. We bring the content to those communities. Without that content, communities would be like a shopping mall with no stores and no customers... just a very beautiful but otherwise empty infrastructure.

=^..^=

I believe that members of the community need to add value to the discussions prompted by our posts as well as to threads we make on our microblogging platforms. We add value by making readers feel glad they took time to read our content and responses.

If someone has a question and we answer it, that's adding value.

If someone seems down and we bring a smile thanks to a comment, that's adding value.

If someone is stuck in place due to lack of ideas and we offer an idea to get that person unstuck and on the path to producing, that's adding value.

In doing these things and others, we're letting everyone else know that we're here not just to earn from upvotes but also to help our fellow community members in whatever they're trying to accomplish. This way, we all succeed, and the community succeeds.

One outstanding way we contribute to the Hive economy is by creating original content and solid engagements
